Spring Decor and DIY Pedestal Birds' Nests!

In today's video, I'll be sharing how I created 2 DIY Dollar Tree Birds' Nests that you can customize to fit your personal design style and décor taste. I am also sharing the first part of my Spring Decorating Series for 2020. I will be starting in my foyer, as I usually do for most seasons, as it sets the tone for the rest of your home.

For the first Bird Nest Pedestal, I used Waverly Chalk Paint in the colors Truffle, Mineral and Plaster.
For the second Bird Nest Pedestal, I used Debi's Diary DIY clay base chalk paint in the colors Bohemian Blue, Fancy Farmgirl, Farm Fresh, Queen Bee and Weathered Wood. I also used Rustoleum Glaze in Java Brown and Folk Art metallic paint in the color 14kt Gold. I forget to mention in the video that I sprayed the projects with a clear, matte enamel after they were totally dry...whoops. You can use any clear top coat that you prefer.

So dainty and pretty ........light airy and a breath of spring air in the midst of it all. So delicate! I love this! It matches your picture just perfectly in the feeling of it all. Loving the elegance you have put into the dishes from dollar tree and the candlesticks, just breathtaking all the way around! Peacefully relaxing! I can also see that all in a den with a huge comfy love seat and throw with a window behind in with the Tuscanny felling and soft music and sitting in the chair with a cup of tea and reading a book. Just surrounded with the beauty of nature and elements and in your cozy home. Ahhhhhhh ~dreaming~ and it doesn't cost a thing~~~ Blessings and thank you for sharing! You are truly an amazingly talented painter and artist of all these elements...........loving this and so relaxing~

Always use a non gloss sealer or hairspray on any greenery that sheds. Works really well

I made a wreath for my front door a week or so ago a I think it just might have to have a bird or two added to it. I love birds in my decor! Wow! Just, wow! To start with the pedestal bird's nest, I have a couple of those bowls from Dollar Tree. I have always thought that the detail work on them are beautiful and the paint technique really emphasizes them well. I hope that you will show in a later video where you have put the darker one. As for the wreath and the other decor you arranged, all I can say is that you are so talented! I hope that I can capture some of the look in my own home. You can also use a combo of E6000 and Hot Glue, E6000 for the permanent adhesion and Hot Glue for a immediate hold until the E6000 dries. I love this DIY super cute, I’ll be hitting up the Dollar Tree soon to try this❤️

I love the pedestal nests, especially the blue one. I think the wrearh is great with all the greenery. You've given me a lot of ideas, thanks for sharing. We had a water leak in our house 2 weeks ago and I had to move EVERYTHING out of my craft room. I have a half made nest and I have 3 books from the dollar tree to paint. Don't know when I can get to them. Contractors are coming in on Monday to redo the drywall and paint. It may be another 2 weeks yet. So, maybe it's fortuitous that it happened so I could get more decor ideas😺. Take care.

Bits of string in your nest like real birds use...I had just done a nest using the assortment also! One girl on another channel uses modpodge first on glass before painting and sais she had great results. Thanks fr sharing all your ideas with us. U always do such a beautiful piece of art!

When I saw how you done this , I was thrilled because its exactly the look I was after. I cant wait to find some pieces and parts to make one.
