Superb video. South Orange is an architectural delight. Don't think the classic lineup at Hoboken can be bettered. Warms the heart

I have just been enjoying another look at your excellent video. I realise that you are a huge fan of EMD powered locos, and I too think very highly of them. You show glimpses of the wonderful (to me) NJT ALP45DPs, and I have ridden behind several of them which was really impressive. Whilst their two Caterpillar 3512C HD motors sound nothing like an EMD 645 unit, I understand they are produced by Progress Rail who now own the rights to the EMD name, and provide parts for EMD motors ? Due to the Pandemic I have sadly been unable to visit the States since 2019, but hope to do so early in 2022, and Hoboken will be high on my list of locations to visit ! Many thanks for your videos, and I hope you can include a ride with an ALP45DP soon !.

Thank you for a truly splendid video ! A agree with all that you say, and find Hoboken Terminal the very best place to watch passenger trains in the New York area. Whenever I am in New York I always cross the Hudson to Hoboken to watch and sometimes take a train on the line to Port Jervis. I guess you are delighted (like me !) that NJT has long since retired its fleet of G.E. U-boats, which were so prevalent in the 80s and 90s. The sound of EMD locos is superb, and I can never hear enough of them ! Many thanks indeed !

Hey, my home station, South Orange. You gotta couple of NJ Transit buses down those steps. 107X/107L to New York, 92 to Branch Brook Park. And the 31 (Coach USA) to Newark Penn Station.

Awesome NJ Transit & Metro North catches Tim if you love NJ Transit & Metro North you’ll love Metra their the King commuter railroad of classic EMDs you should take a trip out there one day soon because Metra will soon retire their F40PH-2s 150 - 172 once their SD70MACHS enter service

When I lived in Maplewood in the 60s, our house backed up to the tracks. When I was 15 or 16 I'd hop the fence and walk to South Orange. There was a storage yard for MU cars and a team track. Also the interlocking tower was active. There were a few freight customers so a local freight with a GP9 would be there sometimes. Once I got a caboose ride to Summit. Don't know how my mom put up with it, lol as people sometimes got killed on the tracks.

Excellent video. Besides the fine camera work, your commentary is the best railfan narration I’ve seen on KZbin. Would enjoy video coverage of: Port Jervis line, including Moodna Viaduct and the CSX River Sub. Keep ‘em coming!

These are great videos, but by around the last 5 minutes I'm expecting the final description to be along the lines of: "That's train 433, of Arrows, due out at 5:35...[bell starts clanging] and there it goes. That was supposed to be my ride home. I guess I'm sleeping here tonight."

I think that Gladstone train that had the dual mode and 3 Comet 5 coaches most likely came off a Port Jervis line run cuz those guys have 3 comet 5’s a lot.

That's like with Metro North too when the train approaches to the platform with the horns on. I wonder when will the Lirr do theirs.
