Hey Doc! I have a 25” McLane Reel mower like yourself. Did my first back lapping the other weekend. I have a gap tool set and reset my reel to the bed knife at .005 thousands of an inch. Do you measure your reel to a certain thousands of an inch? I called McLane in Cali and they didn’t know which thousandths of an inch to set the reel. They said lower the reel down the touch the bed knife then barely back it off. Thanks for the GREAT VIDEOS!

Hey Doc, As always, thanks for the super helpful content you share with us. I received my McLane a couple of weeks ago, and one of the things I'm struggling with is adjusting the HOC. Any chance you can put together a video going through all the potential HOC adjustments of the McLane, please? I have looked everywhere online, and the manual isn't necessarily super helpful, so if you could help me (us) visualize the process, that would be amazing! Thanks in advance!

How is training the grass different than the 1/3rd rule. Can’t you accomplish the same by maintaining the same cutting height over time ?

Our temps here in north Texas are gonna get down around 37 in a couple days for the low. I haven’t planted my vegetable plants purposely because of that. Do you think it’s ok to go ahead and plant them before that cold weather or should I just wait until this weekend to get them in the ground after this cold front passes through?

We moved in to our new construction home about 3 years ago. Had Bermuda sod. Well this year I had to rake out about 1500 sq ft of moss. It just took off and covered everything. I know nothing will grow thru the moss. I think I lost a lot of grass in the process. I don't know. How deep is the seed? Nothing is growing yet in our area. Called a couple companies and they said nothing can be done about moss. All the treatments are like "snake oil" they said.

Hey Doc 👋 ... I'm down here in Georgia [about 30-45min south of Metro ATL]. Afraid of missing any opportunities, I jumped-the-gun... did a very very modest cut and put down some Scott's triple action about 3wks ago; when there was the 1st glimmer of the "weather breaking" [leaving out of winter]. Down here in GA, temps have hit near 80 [a day here or there] yet, the Low Temps have been dropping to mid 30s 🥶 consistently. I have seen my yard starting to "green-up". I've hit the yard with weed killer. So the 🤔 question: is it too late for preemergent? I'd like to overseed within the next 30-45days. Did I miss that window for preemergent?? Thanks for any/all advice that you can offer. I thumbs-up the video & subscribed so that I won't miss any tips/tricks. 👍😎👍
