Hi Iain, another great video on a cracking stretch of water again. Don’t think the sun helped you when you first started but wow it doesn’t matter when you got scenery like that. Can’t wait for the next one Iain , take care and Thankyou for sharing. Steve. 🍷

There is one thing wrong with having a couple of days in such perfect places Steve ......... I have to go home and think about going to have a cast in another river in the hope that ...... or in the knowledge that I am going to have fun 🥳🎣. Cheers Iain. 🥃

The scenery makes it for me Iain. We don’t go salmon fishing 🎣 to just catch a salmon . Difficult water above the falls to fish , loved the scenery all 3 videos

It was a great few days Tony The scenery and the company play a big part in our fishing trips and I am looking forward to getting out again soon I hope that your plans go well tight lines. Cheers Iain. 🥃

What a lovely place to fish. That last pool; if you hooked a springer in there you’d have to swim after it!🎣
@IainSB10 ай бұрын
I think that I would need some assistance Stephen . I don't think that a fish would stay in the pool but to was fun having a cast . the scenery made the day. Cheers Iain 🥃

The worst thing about visiting such beautiful places Paddy is we have to go home . then we have to plan a trip and once we have we are then full anticipation and looking forward and dream about what we have experienced All the very best and tight lines to yourself Cheers Iain. 🥃

Hi Iain, glad you had good January weather. The Helmsdale is a beautiful river, I always stopped to look at it on route to and from my Thurso work trips, even staying in the hotel one night back in the early 1990s. Pity no springers to see. Nick from York
@IainSB10 ай бұрын
there are so many great rivers on the North and North East rivers Nick .... If only you had taken a rod and skived off for day there were no springers caught even although every one tried hard to do a bit of catching. You know the journey and maybe some day you will make the effort to go see the river Helmsdale up close. Cheers Iain. 🥃

stunning video, what an incredible place to fish, if only we had springers like we used to !!

We landed lucky in our three days in Helmsdale Michael the day after we left the main road north was closed due to heavy snow fall and since then the storms have brought in a lot of water I hope your season gets better Cheers Iain. 🥃

Such a beautiful river!

It is one of Scotlands premier salmon rivers and at the hight of the season it's very difficult to have the chance to fish it. there is however a section of the river that is run as an association beat and can be productive and hopefully I will manage to fish it sometime soon Cheers Iain. 🥃

It's one of Scotlands best and there is a queue to book for a week on the prime beats . there is a section of the river that is available through the local association that can be productive and I hope that I can get there to fish sometime soon Cheers Iain. 🥃

Nice to see fishing from dawn to dusk on such a wonderful part of the country side. Iain is there any record oif what is caught and released on the rivers you fish? Just finished our annual salmon conference on the River Rhine and a great deal of effort goes into monitoring if what is still there?
@IainSB10 ай бұрын
on the rivers in Scotland records have to be recorded as there are levels to be paid to the relevant authorities . On the the river Tweed the levies are based on a five year average and the Tweed commissioners decide how much they require to pay for river bailiffs, scientists and conservation ect. there is a lot of money taken in but some beats don't see any benefit from the money that is accumulated Cheers Iain. 🥃

@IainSB10 ай бұрын
I don't believe that there were any spring fish caught James . The river has the potential and the History to produce the first fish of the season but alas not so far this season. Cheers Iain 🥃
