It has! It actually started very shabby, French country cottage core. I have leaned into a more historical traditional style, which suits the architecture of the house much better.

It would be so cute to put pretty dish towels in the scale by your sink…have you thought about putting three chairs around that little table in your living room…that wooden rack holding quilts is a drying rack for pretties in a laundry room….my grandmothers always had them when they couldn’t use their clothes line… you would really use that little table to watch the birds outside….maybe a bench in those beautiful windows…..LOVE YOUR HOUSE

Hi Carolyn, I've been looking for some chairs to go around the round table and I actually do have a couple of benches under the bay windows currently. Yes, that is a drying rack, but I liked how it looked next to the fireplace with throws on it for display :)

Your home is my favorite by far. All the millwork, the windows the nooks and crannies. Spectacular! I loved the little glowing lamp in the nook on the stairs. How special is that! THe bump out bay window is everything in the living room. Someone mentioned papering the built in book cases... if thats to busy for your aesthetic, I would just paint them a few shades deeper than the walls to give them some dimension. When you said you like to add a little water to faux stems in a vase... I do the same, then pick off a leaf or a few petals and sprinkle them on the table. Really fools the eye!

Your home is beautiful tasteful and updated/ modernized in color and some of the furnishings...which many could only live in this kind of home if updated and fresh looking like yours.....I just personally like Victorian homes to be what they were..with those rich tone wallpapers and decor that goes with their unique. dramatic asthetic..But to each their own and your home is beautiful.

I wouldn’t call it modernized. We did take down the black wallpaper (which was about 10yrs old). That instantly brought out all of the millwork and made that the focal point of each space when before it got lost. To me, highlighting those things is what honors the craftsmanship of old homes that you just don’t see anymore. Almost all of my decor is vintage or antique minus the furnishings for comfort.

In another video of yours I remember that vase with lemons that you wanted to paint over and found out the price of it and you decided not to continue with the change. Is best some times not to change things but leave them as is. I love the washing machine because it has the cycle for fabric softener is awesome it doesn't throw it out like others do. I do enjoy having those windows without window coverings but how can you not get so nervous with neighbors not looking in lol. Love the whole tour, enjoy your home and God grant good health and happiness.

If I could only find a beautiful home on a small parcel of land like yours, I would live the rest of my days happily. When I was young, I didn’t appreciate old things, but several years now, I love everything old. I have lots of American made glass, and I collect crystal decanters, candlesticks, covered candy jars and recently been finding things in metal and wood. I just need to find that perfect house. I really can't express how much I love the changes you've made. The addition of more color and pattern breathes so much life into the rooms and gives them such a freshness! Your eye for true finds is great and you have so many lovely pieces. I was trying to decide on my favorite part of your lower floor. I just love everything about the tower bay in your living room! I agree that those windows are spectacular and I love the pie crust table and that gorgeous vase. The simplicity of those being the only things there along with a sizable arrangement of flowers, whatever the season, really showcases its beauty. And then, of course, there is your collection of pitchers in the dining room - I actually covet those! Best not to leave me alone with those if I ever visit! 😂 I think you're safe, though. I don't remember seeing much of your little half bath (I still have lots of catching up to do). I love it! It's absolutely charming and every piece in the room seems so well chosen for the space. Love the art over the toilet, the lighting, the little antique chair in the corner by the window and the plant stand, and the pretty, green toile vase. I'm a sucker for lavender- both the delicate look of the flowers and the half floral, half herbal scent. I can't wait to see what you do with wallpaper. I actually love the whole house and it has great windows everywhere and they're in such fantastic condition! You are so lucky to have such a lovely home.
