Morel Mushrooms are my absolute favorite mushroom! Sweet that you found some good sized ones! Tasty in spaghetti sauce, too! Love the jasper that you found, especially the green jasper - so striking! Cool rocks and gems at the mineral show. Always amazed at all of the different rocks there are, some I definitely have never seen before. Thank you for sharing your adventures!

What fun the rock and gem shows are for us rockhounds! I went to the recent show in Klamath Falls, and it exceeded my expectations. Interesting still, is that I commented to a gentleman who had an opal on display at his booth, how it didnt look like a typical fire opal, but more like the ones at the peacock mine in NV. He then surprised me by saying he'd found it "not far from here". I told him I noticed on a somewhat current mineral map from the state of Oregon,(I think they are typically from data that is 2 years prior, similar to how/what a census provides) showing that opals were being found in a highlighted area that was literally right where I live. I asked him about that, and he said he finds many in or above the area where Oregon Tech is (OIT). He described the place where he found some and I can literally walk there from my house. So needless to say, now that the weather is warming up, Im looking forward to checking that out, as its been a bit too cold and with some snow still remaining when he 1st told me about it in early March. Anyway, I really like this channel, not just because your a fellow Oregonian, but because you seem very knowledgeable about the types of rock you discover, which I've learned from, as well as what types are good to cut with the beautiful coloring that is so fun to search for. I do also like it when you wet saw some of the stones you find in your hunts, and share with us how they look afterward. Kind of exciting, like a present you get to unwrap to see whats inside when you show the results! Nice... Anyway, thanks for showing us the Josephine Co. Showcase . It was alot of fun! And the mushroom exploration was pretty cool too!👍😎 Happy hunting ~⛰️🏞️🌄⛏️🪣

20:55 Looks like a helvella. Not the best tasting mushroom but you should be ok as long as you handled it like a gyromitra before frying. Rinse thrice, boil twice...I see you found some angusticeps too. I am going to have to head out to butte falls and check some patches.
