I've always understood you do not pile mulch up against the trunk of a tree. It can kill them. Mulch around the drip line but not up against the tree.

Greeting I have been watching your channel for a very long time and I love what you do and the way you do it. I have only one suggestion related to cows, your heifer is thin because she can't eat enough feed from a cow that is stronger than her. Make some kind of box where only the heifer will be able to pass or some kind of feed ban where each of them will get the amount of food intended for her. Greetings from Croatia.

Be careful with how deeply you mulch. It's generally a good idea to leave a small space between the mulch and the trunk as mulch will encourage the tree to shoot out roots above the soil surface. The roots will wrap around the trunk and eventually strangle the tree.

I dunno if I told you this before... I sub to a farm in Pa that operates an egg business. After many decades they have discovered that chicken egg production begins to taper off after the hen reaches 2yo. So, it is their practice once thier flock passes 2yo to take them all to auction & buy a new flock. Every 2years to keep production high. !

Looking good on the animals and property. I hope you have a wonderful week.

I love your videos and enjoy the interaction you and Rebecca have. I do want to comment on the interaction you have with your animals. I have lived on a farm or ranch all my life of 68 years and you are teaching your animals to disrespect you and your space. This will lead to unwanted aggression toward you and can end in injury to you and your animal. It also leads to fear on your part after the animal injuries you. Animals are much larger and heavier than you and their play can injury you. I have owned all farm animals in my life and now concentrate on raising Quarter horses. We never feed a horse from our hands and we have very gentle and kind horses without the nipping and aggression at feeding time. The heifer with horns will get to be more aggressive as she gets older.

Thank youfor pointing this out! This has bugged me since they had goats! The animals need to learn to respect Evan and Rebeccas space. One head toss from either cow can land them in the hospital! We had 60 goats at one time before, and now have Morgan horses
