A few questions- 1. When should I start to normally water my grass as it wakes up? 2. I’ve got a section of Bermuda that looks almost dead - not even yellow and I was able to pull up the sod patch easily. What are your thoughts? Am I out of luck? 3. Can I liquid aer8 and then aerate later as well? Thank you in advance! And great video btw!! Laid down sod this past October so it’s newer sod.

Howdy there and thanks for tuning in! Watering never stops in El Paso. Winter time we back off to just once per week. But now is a great time to start your routine cycles. If the lawn areas come easily then the roots from last year never took. That also may indicate some pest damage from grub worms that are the root systems not allowing the sod to root. If it’s a small enough section, take out and push the growth of surrounding grass to fill in bare spots. The great thing about the Air8 is you can apply it at anytime of the season in combination with a manual aeration of you choose.

Would a thatching rake work better? The ones with the blades or the rake you used?

Both are great options. The thatching rake works better in northern grass types like fescue.

Hey Chris.... I also put down ryegrass, but over just dirt, had no prior Bermuda, now I plan to seed Bermuda.. after I cut as low as I can rake everything ... When seeding new Bermuda do u recommend me putting down some topsoil as well... any other tips.?

I’m curious if you did the soil prep when overseeding with the rye? Spring is a good time to top dress or level the lawn along with overseeding with Bermuda seed.

@@SunCityLawnCare I really did no soil prep...just put down seed over bare ground... covered seed with peat moss. Will do on the top dressing a level.

Hello! When is the best time to apply weed preventer? I made an application early in march but now the sod has a lot of weeds. I don’t know if I did it too early

New SOD should NOT receive any herbicide applications the first season. You will inhibit the growth of the sod. Mow the weeds out this first years and and after establishment then your can apply your pre and post emergents.
