Great video i grew up in Mitchell and graduated 1984 . Been many years sence i have been to the park brings back a lot of memories. I worked at the horse barn giving trail rides.in the early 80's.

Beautiful old mill. I live in south (North East Ala) and theres quite a few old mills around but I never get tired of seeing a new one. Maybe if I'm ever up that way I'll check this old mill out. Thank you for posting this informative video :)

There were enormous sycamore trees in that valley, right near the creek when we visited there when I was a kid. I wish they would replant them. I'll never see them alive when they are mature, but maybe 150 years from now they will bring shade and joy to another kid from the future like they did me.

Both the corn mill and saw mill certainly originally ran at the same time. I wonder why they have to divert the water to one or the other now?
