Day 3 of my Spring musky fishing trip to Iowa with my good friends Ben Stone and Matt Vavroch started off a little slow but Ben got two beautiful Iowa muskies to hit a 8" Navin Dive and Rise bait from Chaos tackle. We saw a few fish after that and this was just the perfect day to finish up our Iowa musky fishing adventure!

What gear ratio do you prefer or would you suggest for someone starting out Musky fishing?

@Andy-nb8iz I always prefer a high gear ratio. I'm not sure on the exact numbers, but all the Shimano Tranx reels I use, both 400 and 500, are the HG models.

80lb braid and ten for poles and have to run around the boat 3 times been catching Muskie for 30 yrs never had to do circles around a boat must have really strong skies in your state
