Spring Rounds - Rite of Spring, Stravinsky (Marimba Duet)

Only Arnor Chu would attempt this ambitious feat, to transcribe Stravinsky's Rite of Spring to Marimba. But it is a great success. He has captured the rhythm, tonality, frenzy, gravitas, poetry and energy of Stravnskinky, performed masterfully by Chu and Wang.

wow, this is a fantastic arrangement, some of the orchestral swells are lost because it is a percussion instrument but overall this was an eye opening experience

Unfortunately due to the varying public domain laws on 20th century works, the arrangement will only available for US residents only- link in the description.

Just an update for future reference: the score is now available for purchase and performance in select countries outside the US (such as Canada and most of Asia) whose public domain laws are life+50 years.

So talented. What did you do to practice the accuracy with your high right hand and low left? I have to like go cross-eyed.

Slow practice is key! It also helps to familiarise yourself with the spacing of a particular marimba so you can visualise things spatially without looking.
