Some random spring and summer scenes shot with a vintage Canon 1014-XLS using Kodak Ektachrome 100D Super 8 film. Highlights include spring redbuds, shots around the lake, a day trip to Ocean City, NJ, and beekeeping.

Very nice! I love the rich and tasty colors of Ektachrome; this would be extra special served up on a glass beaded screen with the warm air from the projector wafting about the darkened room. This was a very good use of such a rare commodity - Thanks much for sharing.

Man, would I love to continue trying to emulate this look. All the S8 cameras I'd buy would be broken and I couldn't keep affording film, but I got at least one 12 second shot out of the whole thing.

Image looks a bit soft even for Super 8. What rez was the scan done at? Thought the 1014 camera had a sharper lens then what I'm seeing here.

the scan and camera (imo) are fine, what your are seeing is the poor resolving power of the film stock. 100D was a soft film stock, despite many people trumpeting about the film. Apart from big close ups, 100d was dire, after using miles of Kodachrome film, 100d lacked sharpness, also look at 6 seconds into the film, the building is suffering blown out highlights another pet hate of mine with the stock. Despite poor reviews and although grainy Kodak 64t was sharper with more accurate colour saturation than 100d

Shame KZbin compresses it so much. Can’t see the grain properly.
