I appreciate the fact that you showed us clearly what baits to use in order to catch fish with our kids... it makes it way more fun for them... And makes dinner for my family... good luck fishing! Any de spent fishing is better than a day at work... Hopefully you can turn this into a full-time job! Keep them coming.

Brings back memories for me. My father used to take me for walleyes and muskies in the 1960's. It wasn't uncommon to catch walleyes averaging 4lbs. The biggest muskie was 34lbs. I haven't fished the river since 1973. I need to fish it again. I forgot about those memories for years.

I didn't notice it before but a viewer pointed out a short dorsal spine on both landed Walleyes, it quite likely was the same fish caught twice on the same bait within 40 mins or so....not the smartest fish in the river

Great video, love fishing the pickerel pre spawn on the Thames in Feb/March and then again in May for post spawn. Have caught some absolute tanks in the Thames coming in from Lake St. Clair to do their business. Catch the odd 20-25 incher during the summer months as far up as Greenway and Springbank Park in London. Do you like casting the 3.5 inch sniper shads or the 5 inchers more during the pre-spawn?

I enjoy your fishing videos. I really like those coil keeper football jigs. Can I ask where I can get some of them. Do you use 1/4, 3/8 or 1/2 oz. jigheads for your plastics?
@CarlOutside4 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I don't know where you would get them now, I got them from a home based business that no longer makes them. For weights it depends on conditions but 3/8 is very versatile
@frankstared4 жыл бұрын
Can you suggest some strategies for fall walleye fishing in the Thames? I typically use jigs but wonder if I should switch to worms, which I know are great in the summer or should I use the more traditional jig and minnow set ups?
@CarlOutside4 жыл бұрын
I really only target Walleyes there in the spring so I am no expert, but I am sure the typical spring baits will also work in the fall, ading a minnow never hurts, ...Good Luck!

Hello thanks for the great video, where in the Thames river are you because there is so many species and i went to fanshaw and nileston and cant find the areas the walleyes go through. Is there a specific spot you can recommend please. Thanks

Like the new go pro! Does it matter which way the tails face on the sniper shads? Like... longer side of the tail up or down to the hook(lol hard to describe)? Would it make different movements in the water?
@CarlOutside6 жыл бұрын
I find you will have much better action with them if the belly and tail are pointed down, especially on the fall and slow speeds

Hi Carl, thanks for this great video. Would you please name the baits you have used during this fishing trip? The reason I asked is because I never fished before at Thames River and I want to give a try, but not familiar with the set up. Thank you.

On this trip I caught the Walleyes on a Sniper Shad Swimbait made by Anglers Choice...there is a link to their website in the description, Thanks for watching

I know that this is a old video but what size hook was that and what size lure that you used and how deep is that water. I see you fishing lake Saint Clair, so do I that means you’re probably from Michigan?
@CarlOutside Жыл бұрын
I do not know for sure, but if I had to guess I would say most likely a 3/0 maybe a 4/0. Water is not very deep at that hole 8-9ft at the deepest and the swimbait is about 3.5 inches. I am from across the river from you in Ontario

It’s hard for me to fish the bottom in my local river because I find I snag nearly every cast.
@CarlOutside4 жыл бұрын
Yes, I understand that can be a problem for sure, Football heads do help abit, but you can also try swimming the jig as slow as you can within a few inches of the bottom and that should keep you out of the rocks and still get bit, I do lose a few jigs every trip too : )

Do these methods work for summer as well?
@CarlOutside5 жыл бұрын
They do but there are fewer fish in the river in summer,...most target them drifting with worm harnesses in the summer
@obama-bin-thanos74845 жыл бұрын
Carl Outside do worm harnesses have to be used on a boat/trolled with a bottom bouncer?
@CarlOutside5 жыл бұрын
@@obama-bin-thanos7484 yes but only in the lower deeper sections as the fish move out, but in the upper river you can still use swimbaits and grubs but there are fewer fish to target then
