Nikki, you inspired me some months ago to just embrace what I feel comfortable wearing and now I wear just skirts and dresses. I felt like I had to wear jeans periodically so I didn't intimidate others, but wearing that was never comfortable for me. Physically it's tough since I've had 3 kids, but I just don't feel nice in pants, I feel frumpy somehow even though they are tight fitting!

Ah! Such an inspiration! I love dresses but mostly I love wearing skirts! I do wear jeans but not a lot! Occasionally, more so in the winter! But as soon as spring an summer comes basically that all I wear! I have been taking notes from your videos! For example, I like the way you stored all the clothes in beautiful boxes. I like how you kept it to what you love! Most of us think we have to have a lot of items and in reality we don’t!! I take notes of what I see and loved and do that! I just recently found your channel, but this week I already made some changes and I like what I’m seeing! Is going to take me a while because I was never thought these things! But I know I will get there! Where I feel more like the woman in Provers! Thank you for all you do! Making others feel and take care of themselves and their families. We could never pay you enough!

Another beautifully inspiring video , thankyou Nikki. I am just in the process of switching and and making a list of any extra pieces I need to add to complete this next seasons wardrobe. I live in Australia so we are heading into Autumn/Winter. I cant tell you how much you have inspired my wardrobe since you have switched to dresses only. I wore more dresses this last season than I ever have before and it felt amazing. It can get quite cold here in our cooler months and have decided to go with midi to long dresses belted or waisted with tights and boots or stockings and flat/heel. I am also picking up a longline wool coat in a colour that will match most items. Thankyou again for all that you share. I was wondering if you would share how you organise your drawers I know you did one a while back on Patreon. I would love to see an updated video if you would feel comfortable .

I've transitioned only part of my wardrobe as the temperatures still fluctuate madly. I do love switching from winter into spring. I may wear a spring/summer dress but add a cardigan or pullover. I have a pair of beige tights and have also purchased regular pantyhose I thought I'd never wear again and I like them. With hose the legs stay warm-great for transition time. I have changed my wardrobe to dresses and midi skirts as I have watched your channel over the years. I can do most chores in my nice clothes sometimes added an apron. I'd love to know what you are wearing when you garden, or maybe go hiking or biking or exercising? Do you have a small extra wardrobe for other activities? Thank you for your lovely channel. I find them soothing at day's end.

It was nice to know what you have been doing and that you have been so inspired with my videos! I have one pair of leggings just in case that I store away and if I go horseback riding I would likely get a pair of jeans because the others I used to wear didn't fit me well at one point so I parted with them. So far though, I haven't needed to wear anything other than dresses. I went hiking with my brother and did just fine in my dress.

Nikki I would really enjoy a video of where you find your dresses… Whether it be posh Mark or thrift stores or whatever. You have so many dresses and you seem to have found styles and cuts that are perfectly designed for your figure and face shape etc. and I would like a tutorial on that because I just I’m not finding the kind of dress styles that you are wearing. For me V-neck or sweetheart is best and so many dresses especially in magazines are mostly rounded neck. Also it would be good to know how you hide any perceived figure flaws… So for someone with too big of a bust or someone who does not have a tiny waist or someone who is trying to hide chunkier legs or whatever it would be really good to know your opinion on what you look for when you buy dresses. Also what you look for to accentuate your face features while still being modest and tasteful.

To walk in and see neat fresh lines seems to lift our spirits. I have put my smaller wardrobe in colors like yours now and love to look in the closet to see the pretty pinks and blues. Question? As the weather warms i wonder if you have a solution for older pale legs. Do you use a self tanner? Leggings? Thank you 🌺

I too worked at a clothing store when I was new to the workforce. Everything nice and neat and in its place in the morning felt amazing! Like Jaime said, I like to wear pantyhose and they are best for concealing. I never use self tanner although I have tried that many years ago. I think they all stink and are too difficult to make look natural especially when I can tell when anyone has used it. Some would say the same with regard to pantyhose, that you can tell but I believe they are a timeless staple for a well dressed woman. They just seem smart, not like one is trying too hard.

I don't really have that many lighter colors. I haven't been so good with picking outfits in lighter shades other than warm khakis. Falling under deep autumn and theatrical romantic it's hard to find things that don't make me look washed out/off with my coloring or juvenile. On the other hand, something that looks normal on me may look loud, depressing or scandalous on someone else. I may be able to do some creams and darker corals. That's something I need to work on. It's great that you have funeral attire on hand already in good condition and ready to wear. It's my understanding that members of the British royal family are required to travel with a change of funeral-appropriate clothing ever since Queen Elizabeth's father died. But it's a good practice for everyone, as you really don't want to want to deal with that when a loved one passes away or if you find out about a funeral at the last minute...

This is a great question, Janira and something I feel keeps so many people from purchasing this brand. I have washed every single Gal Meets Glam dress I own, which is quite a few, on the "delicate" cycle and then simply hang dry them. I've never had any issues. There are certain fabrics which are best to be dry cleaned only but those dresses aren't made of them. I hope this helps!

Speaking of funerals Nikki ; have you noticed that most people don't wear proper funeral attire? I have have been to 2 funerals since the holidays and I was very surprised to see people milling around in jeans and tees or hoodies. Men and women both as well as children old enough to dress properly. I fear if it were summer time I would have saw some shorts and flip flops.
@TheLadyoftheHouse3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I don’t think many people care about such things anymore. Overall, I believe it’s important just to be there, “better to go to the house of mourning than the house of feasting” but for me and my house, I want everyone to know what the proper attire is and to follow the respectful protocol of the past. To me, that’s how we can put others over self in such a situation. Selflessness is sadly no longer promoted. Most may not realize how they draw attention to themselves when not dressed in a respectable way but especially at a funeral.

I wonder if displaying a photo of your grammy in her prime (perhaps the age you are) could help you transition without her on earth? A young photo of grammy might remind you that she lived a wonderful life and her funeral day is not the day she would want you to remember when you think of her. God bless
@TheLadyoftheHouse3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, we have been going through older pictures and I love looking at all the ways she did herself up, she was very talented with hair. I always have a picture of her with my Grumpy around but never think of her on her funeral day. It came and went but the memories of her last forever. It's still important to keep something to wear for funerals in my opinion.

That has made the greatest difference and has been better for my overall health. Before a few years ago however, I would eat anything I wanted and never struggled with weight gain. Age also plays a role.
