Especially that Ireland have only ever only won one game in SA, in 2016. A single win in SA would be a historic event on it's own. That combined with the fact that the Leinster boys camr up short at Loftus recently which featured many of this starting team. We also have some idiotic, arrogant pundits from SA Rugby Mag that will try and make you believe that it will be easy going for the Boks. But I believe most rugby fans will see this as a close, bruising encounter.

I think the issue with altitude that might count against us(Springboks) is that we tend to play defensively. Thats why we tend to lose against the AB's on Ellispark as they just keep attacking. My worry is that Ireland has the best phase attack in world rugby and if we go on defensive mode we won't win. Very nervous for this one😂

Both teams have a lot to prove. I can't predict the score outcome, but Im pretty sure there are going to be some injuries that will affect the second test. British and Irish Lions' 2009 tour vibes possibly.

Boks have to win the first one, there are too many factors in their favor, but Ireland should have a right chance in the second. So 1-1 series, which will probably satisfy both sides. I agree with Andy re WC cycles, a year is a long time in rugby, never mind 4 years. France have dropped quite a bit this year v last-missing Dupont being a significant part of that-and I think Ireland are also down a little, with England climbing back up a bit. Hope both sides come thru without any serious injuries.

Something to keep in mind when trying to read too much into Rassie's strategy regarding this world cup cycle atm is that he's never had a full 4years to build a team. Supporters want to see more changes, but 4 seasons is an enormous amount of time, and rotating the old guard slower is the best way to go about it.

Im thinking we're gona run the saffas all over the field with the boots of Osborne, Crowley and most importantly, James Lowe. Wear down the bomb squad, at least thats what the strategy appears to be. Old man murray gets flack for his box kicking addiction but here he might flourish. Also - dont forget - he was pivotal in the world cup game at getting scrum penalties and began slowly turning the screw against SA in the last pulsating 10 minutes. The forwards look good but its the backs SA will exploit, Craig casey needs to play his best game for us to have a chance. Gona be a cauldron! Cant wait.

The biggest issue for Ireland is the lsck of experienced half backs in the form of Sexton and JGP. The starting scrumhalf has been relegated to water boy duties for the past two years and is effectively his first international test in a very long time. The half back positions are the most important positions in the game and thr experience level between the two teams in this position is massive. I'm surprised Conor Murray wasn't given a start as good experience in this position will be vital. If Ireland do lose, this will be where they will lose the game.

The man's a hard worker, great defender, and does some clutch things on attack. If Lukhanyo didn't have that recent injury in the URC I would've loved to see him in green and gold. But alas...

Irish fan here. One win would be fantastic, but it's unlikely. Hugo Keenan's role in the Irish team is hugely underrated. We will feel his absence. As long as we don't get blown off the pitch, I'll be content.

Hugo's work rate is huge. Without him there will be a gap, but it's a great opportunity for the new caps. BTW, who underrates Hugo Keenan? Setting aside great tournaments like the word cup where the Boks reign supreme, the Irish are going to win this series. They are a very, very good side and the Boks under that magnificent coach are experimenting. The Irish concentrate on the most minute detail and have a great game plan. I don't know. Siya is known for playing above his level. He's relied on his athleticism and we've relied on him getting up for big games. I'm sure he'll do his best but it's starting to feel like John Smit being shifted to prop only where do you shift Kolisi and to be fair the replacements don't have the same aura.. So it must be Marco Van Staden replacing him on like 50, strange that they have two locks so Even also replaced, it means Psdt will stay on the full 80 unless Mostert replaces him but then who is captain in the final 20.

Interesting watching some analysists of the 2 teams, they believe Ireland will have to relax their defence a bit against the Boks attack with Tony Brown now involved with the Boks and bringing in a new dimension to their attacking game. I think the Boks are going to want it to be fast paced with alot of running and kick passes and the Boks have good kickers this time. Didn't the Boks miss 11 points at poles against Ireland in the RWC23, Faf and Kolbe were giving it a go at poles, what a joke that was.

I dont think Ireland are at all prepared for the sheer violence that the boks will bring to this test, Rassie has wound the boks up so much, record score on the cards if Ireland dont meet the bok ferocity head on. SA to win both games with ease.. I hope Im wrong, but Ireland want to be on the beach somewhere instead of facing this lot after a 13 month season.

I think the Boks can go either way. There's been a few games where they've looked to slow things down. I reckon given how Ireland play, it's the right move
