Yea I got tired of waiting for my back ordered plate and bought a vortex venom for now. December can't get here fast enough. Waiting on my rmr plate. Got a 2.5 MOA SRO in the box waiting to be installed. Good looking prodigy! 👌

It’s insane! They can build a gun but not the Part for the gun ?! Lol I almost did that I was between the vortex and the HEX but I knew I’d never use them and the tech is outdated I prefer my Holoson with the Shake awake/ Multi Reticle/ Solar Panel and Green Dot !

@@americantrucker9813 100% agree with you. I have several holosun 509t's, 4 rmrs, and 2 SRO's. I guess the vortex will go on my duaghters little buckmark 22lr when our plates arrive for the Prodigys...eventually!

@@jnix05.56 I just wish I was a manufacturer of gun parts because I would’ve spit these plates out The day I found out about The Prodigy and you could’ve made a fortune I know I would’ve bought a plate from a different brand if it worked! Also why couldn’t they just put a RMR cut on the damn gun!? I mean it is so crazy that you need optic plates at all ! My guns with RMR cuts are way better for accuracy at all distances because that Optic gets so close to the bore without a plate

Brother that beast is clean 🧼 totally still my thunder with the tungsten and black but I am going to do a V8 port on mine. But I’m going to keep her Bi-tone, but awesome job with the Cerakote.

I’ve done a bunch of things for fun but I would say you should run about 500 rounds through the gun and then put the old recoil spring back in and let me know if that works fine because I’m betting it will. I think they cerakoted every part of this gun so thick and once it wears off certain places it runs super smooth. The original original cerakote ok mind was Crap ! It was so thick it was flaking off anywhere it touched my holster after so many times and I have many cerakote jobs that are way tougher and aren’t so easily worn. So my guess it too thick or too thin either causes failures in the coating. But I’m someone who loves to customize everything to me or simply to tinker.

I modified the crap out of the original plate. Getting the Romeo Zero to fit nice was Easy and looked great (pics on my channel) but I don’t like that optic I’m a Holosun Fan so I put the 407k on and it stripped the screws out because it’s heavier and without the Posts and support behind it wasn’t working so I Thinned put the plate to Get closer to the Bore and than used JB wield Steel stick Puddy to build the support behind the optics and The reason it doesn’t sit flush is because the optic is sitting on the optic plate screws and I’m not sure if the new optic plate will come with replacement screws so I didn’t want to sand those down so that’s why there’s a Very small gap

At the time of this video the cerakote job on my prodigy was the Tungsten color obviously but I did not send a blast first I just prepped with acetone and a scotch pad

Tungsten is one of the easiest colors to use, it adheres excellently, it covers excellent, and requires the least amount of prep work for a good finish.

Looking fresh my man! What plate did you use for the Holosun? I’ve heard of battery issues for the Hex rd. I’ll stick with a 507c or maybe AEMS?

And it’s the original plate just heavily modified lol to get my Holoson 407k ( 407k & 507k & EPS carry from Holoson fits phenomenally well on the prodigy it’s the exact width of the slide makes a flush fit which I love) I’m still in the same boat with everyone waiting on Springfield to fulfill our pre-orders on the plates.

Oh that sucks. I noticed that all I could do was pre-order a plate. I just refuse to buy their new optic. It looks really bad. I heard a Burris FF 2/4 will work. I’d like to get the Holosun AEMS as it has a larger window.

@@GatCat I agree 100% if they can build the damn gun they could build the plates @ the same time after all they had plates ready for their optics ! I like the AEMS I just try to keep my EDC as small but capable as possible that’s why I love this Prodigy so much !!

I lucked out getting my prodigy though. I’m in CA and it is nearly impossible to come by these right now. At a price point that is doable. I got mine next to MSRP. So thats good. Via PPT. 4.25”. I’m wanting to get some upgrades for it, like an extended mag release. Do you know if the Stacatto gen 1 mag releases would work?

@@GatCat gen 1 STI mag really will Not fit, The prodigy is a Gen 2 STI platform but I believe that’s only in relation to the mag release any other parts will be compatible for example 1911 parts are also compatible with the exception of the Trigger Bar and mag release

I’ve never read Springfield’s entire warranty other than their lifetime warranty. I’ve never made any warranty claims with any firearms shy of having called a couple companies when things have broken because of excessive use and those companies offer for free to replace such parts. To me warranties are for new gun owners more than anyone, I wouldn’t send my guns away to be fixed when I can fix them myself better but my prodigy has over 14,000 rounds through it and it’s just fine but thanks and Godbless
