Agree with you, is a very good gun. I replaced the hammer strut, the recoil spring 9lb, Atlas tooless guide rod, EGW Magwell and ignition kit, Atlas trigger shoe, Mainspring 17lb and removed the iron sights. 3.000 rounds and not a single malfunction.

@@ivanradi4275 that is great to hear! 9lb recoil spring is a little light for me. I would also consider a new extractor. Mine is losing tension again

@@TargetTimeWithTy I found SA over sprung their arms for daily use purposes ( I'm using for USPSA matches only ), also I found that the return to zero and the recoil with the 9lb recoil spring in conjunction with the mainspring 17lb is much better. I'm using Blazer CCI 124gr and their groups are tight. On the other hand I recommend getting a high quality extractor i.e. ( Wilson or Ed Brown )

@@ivanradi4275 I agree. 9lb is a little light for me. All factory guns are oversprung for reliability and longevity with hotter ammo. Anything between 9 to 11lb is about right depending on the shooter and ammo. I need a new extractor now as mine is worn out

smooth like butter😮 did you change recoil spring?

@@TargetTimeWithTy What brand spring? I'm not finding them around the net.

@@jwb4bb i think its an ismi spring. go to the ben stoeger pro shop. Look up 1911/2011 recoil spring, there are a ton of options with different manufactures and weights

@@TargetTimeWithTy what weight is the standard spring? are you shooting factory ammo or reloads? thanks
@TargetTimeWithTy26 күн бұрын
@2piecechickenbox great question. I don't know the factory spring weight. I am running reloaded ammo. My load is a 134gr bullet at about 1000fps

A brand new pistol should not have to have work done to it to make it functional. The Prodigy from the box is a "jam o matic", there are so many videos showing all of the upgrades that have to be done to get this pistol to function. Mine has feed problems and I hope with some spring changes and mag changes it will start to function. It beats trying to get a Staccato for $3000.

@@arshooter1 yeah 2011s can be hard to manufacture on a large scale and have them run perfect. I like to think that when you purchase a budget 2011 you are really buying it for the frame, slide, and barrel. I expect all other parts to be changed. That use to be the normal for 2011s years ago. When staccato was STI, you would buy an edge or an eagle and change out all the parts. I have pretty much all egw works parts on my gun. I'll be trying a new extractor soon as I have been experiencing failure to extracts due to weak extractor tension. It's still happening after tuning as well. Maybe 1 in 500rnds or so
