I bought my Springfield Saint Edge rifle at the Marine Corps PX in 2020 and then I bought the Saint Edge CQBR soon after. It is one of my favorite AR/AR pistol beside the FN M4A1 carbine. After thousand of rounds later, it is still shooting great in 2024!

Great review on this Saint Victor. Gotta love when everyone mentions "10.5" as if they are documenting the velocity for every cartridge fired from their rifle. The 7.5 has its place. If it's for home defense 7.5 and 10.5 will both stop a threat. Springfield did a good job.

I've been shooting AR's since I was Nam draftbait, and bought two Saint Victor Pistols when they first came out, but admit I was a little leary at the time. I owned two Colts, two Sigs, and one old original Bushmaster AR prior to purchasing them, but the Victors are now my families go-to guns for both fun and hunting! Just remarkable quality, value, and accuracy straight out of the box. As most AR owners know, most factory "mil-spec" triggers feel like your dragging an anchor in sand, and they are the only guns mentioned above that didnt need trigger replacements, as they come with pretty good triggers, too! Ive installed LaRue MBT and Gisele triggers on all my other 5.56's and though better than my stock Springfield Armoury Saint Victor Pistol triggers, spending $200 to minimally "upgrade" the Victor triggers is just pissing $$$ away. My 2 cents...

I snagged a St Vick pistol a little under 2 years ago. It has the SBX-K hard rubber cuff brace. I've put 2000+ rounds in a mix of 5.56 & .223 thru this gun and it ate everything w/out a hiccup. Just a badass high grade AR shorty and yes probably one of the best firearm purchases I've ever made at a little over $900 after tax. While I love this gun as is I may convert it into a rifle by throwing a 16 inch barrel on eventually. Til then I'll still enjoy it and the fireballs that sometimes come out of that forward blast diverter......

It looks good,. I run my lights at 1 o'clock as a righty,. Maybe for you as a lefty 11 o'clock, but the top is better, and tight at you can get it . Keeping the bottom clean for grip is better on a realy short barrel. Pressure pad on top, then the wire is tucked between very protected from snag . You want your pressure pad just pass your thumb so you have to reach up to hit it , that's so you don't accidentally hit it during your normal grip , I noticed that O-Light, they make a different type 45/o mounting bracket M-Lok it will put your light at 11oclock and tight by the iron sight .

Looks like Springfield has discontinued these...I bought 2 with the SB3 brace before the supply dried up. Added overmold grips, Streamlight barrel hugging lights and Holosun 5010c's. I also added Magpul, stationary, single point sling attachments at the castle nut on the buffer tube and Magpul M-Lok stationary sling mount on the handguard for a Magpul sling. These are by far my favorite firearms...not even close. Hopefully these will be back on the market when/if the ATF and NFA get smoothed out and eliminated as UnConstitutional. Springfield isn't exactly 2nd oriented or patriotic. Paid $1099 each for two...these are very high quality as you stated. Extremely thorough and thoughtful review!

I got mine when I sold an old civic plus a few thousand I said "hey throw in that SA Victor AR-15 and we have a deal." It had no sights very clean and it looks like last owner installed sig sauer hand grip. As for aiming I grew up with a crossman bb gun so I'm used to putting my cheek right up against the stock to look down the sights with right eye, but it seems hard with this even imagining it. I'm torn on whether to get a red dot sight or what I'm used to (U shape sight). Not sure what works best. A friend of mine told me about the recent law, you see I have the rubber forearm piece on stock with the velcro, he was saying they outlawed that? Plus the barrel I knew immediately it was short, that was another thing I was legally worried about. Glad I bought this privately, just in case. I also own the Keltec 40 caliber sub 2000 (Glock compatible) which I love, although this Springfield feels like it doesn't kick half as hard. Love it. Anyone got feedback on the sights, or laws let me know. Thanks

You can’t have any brace that will allow you to shoulder the weapon. Unfortunately it is now punishable by law. You can install a straight buffer tube with nothing on it. I think it has to be 7.25” or shorter and 1.15 in diameter but double check me on that. With not being able to shoulder it I would go with the red dot. I have never understood why anyone would want an AR pistol with a 7.5” barrel chambered in 5.56 instead of 300 BLK-which is made for a short barrel. A 7.5” in 5.56 is going to be very loud and probably not meet the desired muzzle velocity for 5.56 of 2500 fps. While the price and visual appeal may be good, I would not personally own anything in 5.56 with a barrel less than 10.5/11.5 inches. Just my 2 cents.

@@GSquaredTactical I chronographed my 7.5" with Winchester 62gr green tip. It averaged 2420. That's plenty fast enough for any close work or even mid-range.

That’s plenty for up close and person ie CQB inside homes or urban environments where you’ll be engaging threats between 3-50 yards at the most. If you want to get deeper into “the details” going 10.5 is not good either. But depends on what you want to do with your weapon. Home defense or up close, a gun that does both in door and mid distances no further than 200 yards, mid range to long distances. I’m quite sure if you shoot someone with a 7.5” barrel, they’re not going to stop and laugh or mock you because your using a round that isn’t traveling 3400 ft per second 🤷♂️ 🤷♂️. There is a such thing as focusing too much on the details. Sidenote: a .223 leaving out the barrel of a 7.5 still has 2x the punching power of a .45 ACP round.
