@Bleachfan604 The song Nils did at the show was "Man at the Top" (released by Bruce on Tracks). The Wise-Weisman song does share a paraphrased verse and chorus with Bruce's song. But if Bruce released it, it would certainly be credited to Springsteen (Lyrics and music) and Fred Wise (lyrics).

Yes. This sounds nothing like the original and the lyrics are only vaguely close. However, Bruce sometimes introduced this as one of his favorite Elvis songs.

Beautiful. So different from The King's version. He sang it like he was in a hurry to get out of the recording studio coz the were several women waiting for him in the next room. (there probably were!! lol)

You are correct. Bruce originally covered the Elvis song. Then during the Born In the USA sessions he wrote his own song with this title and and a similar chorus. He did a similar thing with the more recent song Dream Baby Dream.

I was at this concert in octyober 1986..Nils was there also and did a set. It was a song written by Bruce; however I can't remember the name...anyone out there have any thoughts? BTW Danny F is playing the accordian and Nils is on guitar on this song Follow Your dream (written by Bruce)

@Bleachfan604 Follow That Dream is not a Bruce song. It was originally performed by Elvis P in 1962 and was written for him by Fred Wise and Ben Weisman. Bruce changed the arrangement and a couple of lyrics but it's not his song.

this song is not even close to elvis version except in title only. elvis was great but he had his own nich, while bruce has his. no judgement as to which singer was best.

I have heard Bruce sing Elvis' "Follow That Dream," in concert -- as Elvis had done it -- but this track is not Elvis -- nothing to do with Elvis.

Elvis Presley is dead, Presley did not write this, the chorus is somewhat the same as the Wise-Weisman song , but the verses is all Bruce. Bruce should change the chorus musically a little bit, change the title, then it would be another Springsteen classic!!
