I like to edit the titles of my pawns so that i am reminded of their abilities on the create caravan screen. So that I don't forget to bring doctors and fighters. I also always take a few simple meals for the start of the journey, because they're quicker and easier to make than pemmican.

What if the destination is an outpost? In that case bring a medic just in case. I tried taking on a tribe, with 4 colonists (2 were good fighters, one's ok medic and one is just a spare) I beat the tribe by taking out 5 of their guys and them fleeing the base, then I stole their loot and had to stay for a day bc one guy got shot so bad he was 3 hours from dying but I did save him.

Really awesome guide! I finally have a nice little colony going. I have been afraid to venture out and actually thought that I had to take everyone! So glad I watched this! I miss one critical information: how to use transport pod to deliver goods for fulfilling quests to nearest town ... which is on the other side of impassable mountains so trip takes perhaps two days. I can't settle in the enemy town, I can't construct transport pod for return trip in the allied village, I can't just send it as a gift. Easiest option seems to form regular caravan with animal and food and waste several days and risk ambush. Complicated way seems to be to launch caravan using two pods with animal, 44 mortar shells (for quest) and either food for return trip or material to construct two launch pods, two people, mortar shells and fuel. Which means cca hundred units of fuel, 220 steel (can be mined in destination), four components and people capable of mining, construction and trading. One person is not enough to deliver mortar shells. Sadly I just got two interesting quests just after half of my animals died when base was attacked by quite decent force.

Ok, so this is a review before I watch the video, so i'm reading a book by its cover. I'm sorry if that makes me look bad...but I have good things to say. I'm very appreciative that you aren't begging for likes and subscribes, although with your attitude, I don't see you even needing to ask. It feels like you're about to get to the point right after the intro, so I'm most likely going to subscribe and watch to the end. My point is that I don't see enough content providers doing a good job and not caring about likes, the ones that do this are winning off skill. Goddamn, 1.75 speed was perfectly normal for my adhd brain. On a side note , it's also lucrative to go on ancient danger hunts using steel trap mazes, or get guest caravans to destroy them;lots of turrets work too. I settle new zone and repeat this lol, 49 luciferium with masterwork assault rifle, doomsday rocket and several bionics now lul.

i had a good ''colony'' going. was my 3rd try and i got a message about a outpost raid. and they asked me to take care of it if i didnt they would in 14 days. so i clicked on the map. and it said ''Travel time 1 day '' i prepare my caravan. had 3 people with it and brought a total of 9 days worth of food. i thought for the trip towards and trip back. but it took so fucking long and they somehow starved even though the game said. 0,8 days travelling. something in that manner

There's several things that could have happened. What food permissions did your colonists have? Because they will see no problem with starving while they have a thousand pemmican with them if they're forbidden from eating it.

No worries man :) If you have two caravans on the same tile on the world map, you can drag a selection box over them to select both, then an option will appear for you to merge the two caravans. Hope this helps!

Go into your game settings and set the maximum allowed colonies to however many you ultimately wanna get set up ✌️ By default you're only allowed to settle a single colony.

Yes but you need to go to your game settings and increase the max number of bases above one. Then just ‘settle’ a new base, farm your stuff, and then abandon head home.

I don't know what game you're playing, but caravans always take at minimum 2000 pemmican to move just a few hexes on the map for 2 people. Incredibly broken game feature and it's NEVER been worth running a caravan. Your people ALWAYS starve to death because they cannot carry enough food. Insane that they add a feature where your colonists need to eat 100+ meals per game day just to be moving through terrain.

Sometimes it's also better to wait dor raids since they bring in good stuff to like plastasteel in form of weapons which I think my map tile dosen't have for multi analyzer and gold for your multi analyzer and can't find the gold or plastasteel deposit on your map cause its hills and mountains map.

I simply _fucking_ hate the fact I cannot merely use Drop Pods to throw quest fulfilling items at Factions. Why? It makes no sense. EG. As of this comment a faction within drop pod distance wants ten flak vests and what do you know I have more than ten flak vests however I have to send a guy with said vests and land them 4 world tiles away min just so I can then build a costly temporary base, in terms of return journey chemfuel that is and steel depending, so that one guy can leave the base unguarded to deliver said goods before returning and I consider this to be frustratingly grindy given I can shoot said ten flak vests at the Questee base but they will only accept them as a gift.... Just how fucking shady and untrustable are people on The Rim?

Also suprised that there is no mentioning of the fact that you should always bring medicin. Should have mentioned that bandaging up on the world map is often faster than on temporary maps. Might have been good to mention how prisoners are being handled and how trade works. Also the building of very large caravans gives a lot of trouble, when packaging up takes a couple of days. Also never bring a lot of chicken or other slow and numerous animals...

You missed a lot of the basics such as how to send a caravan. Your video is lacking in the richness of knowledge that it needs to be effective. No thumbs up or down. It did show some of the right core items. It just needed more
