respect for pushing bolt in the latter stages of his career and continuing to push on afterwards

The tenacity and humility of JG is a winner. He is way older than most sprinters and still pushing hard and despite the whole thing going on with Black America. He is my favorite in the sprinting world.

Im a Gatlin fanboy. The media dragged his name through the dirt because he was just too fast. Plain and simple.

He never really got forgiven in the public eye, but he got to do what he got to do, not unlike most everyone else.

Though he was a controversial sprinter, it was an absolute pleasure watching Justin Gatlin run and compete. He pushed any sprinter to their limits just to even beat him. Just ask Bolt, Yohan Blake, and Christian Coleman

No. He didn't push Bolt to Bolt's limits. Bolt was peaking between 08 and 12/13. Gatlin was only a threat to Bolt in 2015, in the 100 m, because Bolt was running like crap and I think he was injured just prior to the event.

@Faustin Dutoy Bouley mate, I meant to say "crap", meaning Bolt's form was not anywhere near his 08-12 form. Not to say 9.79 s is exactly crap, it's just that Usain set the bar so high that anything more than a 9.6 is "crap", that's what I was saying.

@@Yes_I_c4n idk bout this take, i agree that bolt peaked at those times but even bolt said that gatlin seriously pushed him in times like 2015 where bolt wasn't at his best and gatlin was getting better times and eventually gatlin caught him in 2017

No one ever talks about how insane Gatlin was a young kid. In 2004 he beat veteran and 100m WR holder Asafa Powell. 9.84 I believe race was close as hell too. Gatlin had that killer instinct.

In 2004 they were both 24 years old, how would that make him a veteran? Gatlin is literally older than Powell by a few months World record was set years after that as well

@@tynibbs5759 gatlin beat Maurice greene who was 35 or so at the time. no one was counting on gatlin also 24 is a very young age to win gold in 100m olympia
