Die Hard isn’t a Christmas movie because it could have taken place any other time of the year, and it wouldn’t have changed the movie at all. The fact that it takes place on Christmas is completely irrelevant to the rest of the movie. People wouldn’t call Die Hard a Halloween movie, if it took place on October 31st.
