Centurion is by technicality a WWII tank as the Mk.1 was made in 45 but arrived too late to have had any combat, merely only arrive in Germany after the end of the war.

@@PatchBits From what i know it from how MBT's are called MBT's Main battle tanks is just the say of a tank that is used mainly for every use in the tank combat and some say mbts are heavys or medium's. so ya that why i think some people say medium or heavy but no one really knows what classified a MBT be side's being a main tank

@@mrman5666 That is correct. MBT is about doctrine, not the mechanical design of the tank. Generally they resemble medium tanks, and the first gen of them were all originally classified as medium tanks, but anything can be an MBT if the nation using it considers it adequate for all or almost all of their combat needs. Contrary to what many seem to believe, MBTs are subject to all the same compromises between armor, firepower, and mobility that light, medium, and heavy tanks are. They just represent a balance of those capabilities that their designers consider adequate for any situation they're likely to encounter.

I'm dyslexic, I am capable of reading but because its challenging for me I tend not to default to reading what I see while browsing youtube. The thumbnail is far more valuable to me as a method of choosing what I watch. So in response to what you were saying here. I rarely read the title of videos.

@@acha5667 No dyslexia just makes it extremely hard to read in general. Imagine trying to read like you do now, but all of the letters are scrambled and you only figure out what they are as you are about to read them. There are certain font types and typographies that alleviate these issues.

11:50 If i'm not mistaken they had such range finders (handheld versions) all the way back in WW1. I remember seeing a picture of a German using a pair of binoculars that had the eyes be shoulder width apart. But that was years ago, so take that with a grain of salt.

yes, they used them till 1965 with laser range finders being invented. they are called Coincidence rangefinder or Stereoscopic rangefinder.

I think the first rangefinder was made in the late 1800s, and we're pretty much standard on battleships built after WWI (those that served in WW2).

@@JWQweqOPDH They were standard on battleships and cruisers from the 1890s even, the trick was getting the range to the guns, accounting for roll/pitch, etc., which was the role of gun directors, where were invented about 1912 and were being put on ships during WW1, cruisers got them in the 20s, destroyers had gun directors by WW2

@@ronanmcdonald6386they also had issues with tracking shots in the 1800s/WW1, multiple calibres all splashing around meant tracking a tracer was basically impossible lol. Then there’s also the issue on some ships of the guns being so powerful that’s the shockwave throws the rangefinding equipment out of alignment (looking at you Bismarck)

If i remember correctly the british COvenanter or Crusader had a outer Shell made out of Steel with an Alluminium inner shell. It was done to reduce shrapnells after penetrating but i dont know if that can be considered "Composite Armor"

It is, its really basic but fits the criteria. Essentially any armour that use differing materials (different metals, plastics, air, ceramics, eh... wood) is technically composite armour.

I have noticed setting the gun elevation speed to 1°/s works best with medium-size guns featuring custom mantlets, since it gives you the fastest time to top speed and turns out it's not that slow to swing your gun up and down.

I like the idea of the Fog of War with results of Shots and Enemy Condition in Live Combat, and I think it'd be good to be able to toggle Shot Results and Enemy Condition on and off at will in Testing Scenario kinda times, like when building the Tank and testing its functionality in the Test Area. Being able to observe your Tank's efforts and use info for diagnostics of how it's performing is just plain needed when building and testing the Tank or how is one ever supposed to tell what is or is not working on that Build Strategy? Conversely, I totally agree with the Dev(s) that not getting free cheater Intel on how your Attacks are faring will make for more intense exciting Combat. P.S. I totally liked this Tank Build. And it looks like you're gettin better at your Human Tetris. ;) Curiosity: Is it possible to put in two Crew assigned to loading one Gun to reload it faster, or did Geometric Internals do away with that?

T-54 was actually a WW2 design and the first Soviet MBT was the T-64 which combined the armour and the gun of a heavy tank but the mobility of a medium tank, yes this is the Soviet classification, the Soviets were among the last to actually adopt the MBT tank concept. Every previous T-series tanks were medium tanks. T-55 included.

The ears on the side of the turret t30 American heavy tank are range finders so even back in 1945 they had the technology to make range finders that fit inside of the tank

That tank looks great and seems to be effective. But I wonder about the weight... I've just finnished a similar tank in Sprocket, but reached only 27 tonnes (metric), with 15 mm in the bottom, 25-30 mm at the top, 70-150 mm at the front, 70-80 mm at the sides and 30-55 mm at the rear. But mine is smaller with only four men crew.

I only found out about this alpha version being playable last night. Subsequently made a 3rd gen MBT quite well, although it does need some greebling as I'm not an experienced builder. I do love how improved the tank editor has become compared to the original version of the game, I was struggling a lot to make shapes I wanted but now? Now it's more like using blender, as it should be. Having internals to detail is also a nice touch although the trunions of the cannon breach do get annoying.

can you please make a proper tutorial on how to make these nice looking tanks from your more recent videos I've been out of Sprocket for like a year and now I've come back and with all the new content it just feels absolutely impossible to learn. And even when I slow your videos down to 0.25 it's like a squirrel on crack XD Can you please maybe consider making some slower paced actual tutorials on making things, like the individual segments at 2:15, the smooth frontal armour curve at like 4:14 ish onwards, and hollowing out the inside bits and assembling the rigging for the turret ring to slot ammo into
