Not such a small amount of silver in a solar panel. A 400W solar photovoltaic panel typically contains between 20 grams and 40 grams of silver.

High interest rates? 6% is high? The 1980’s saw 20% rates. Rates need to go higher, to reward savings , not lower! Which results in reckless spending and lending. Lower rates is what has resulted in housing prices being artificially inflated.

Gold is gold. It doesn't change. If you have to put a dollar value on it, the dollar is inflating and so gold would appear to be increasing in value in dollar terms. But, always, gold is gold. If you have one ounce of gold today, it will be the same ounce 10 years from now.

BRICS doesn't appear to be a true currency. It appears more like giving countries the option of doing exactly what you might be doing. Do I use the VISA credit card for this transaction or the MasterCard. It is just an alternative mechanism to make the transaction. I'd only be concerned if those ~65 countries that have their currencies pegged to the US dollar start migrating to a peg of gold or some other instrument.
