My parents sent me to Monastery young. At 19 I left monastery to pursue my formal educations. By 26 i got a master degree in Finance, approved PR in USA - jobs lined up, was making very good doing trading and job salary. I was really happy but I always missed that part being Mindfulness creature at the monastery. At 31 I resigned from my job, took a one way trip to Dharamshala. Today I’m 34 a monk again & teach basic finance to Monks. Remember guys no god is coming to save you from your suffering, it’s your own actions today will make better or worse individual.

Celibacy is the most incredibly powerful force for these monks. I also know a few Jain and Buddhist monks in India who have been celibate since birth. They exhibit remarkable calmness, emotional strength, freedom from anxiety and acute stress, high energy levels for physical movements, exceptional control over their senses and thoughts, and an iron-clad discipline. This state is profoundly empowering. As celibacy has been associated with religion, many people see it as a "forced or unnatural" pratice, disregarding the benefits.
@alaineb26434 ай бұрын
The Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism (the oldest Tibetan School of Buddhism) does not require one to be a celibate to be a monk. Celibacy doesn't work for everyone. Interesting that none of them spoke about Self-Realization was what they were going for, that when you surrender to the Divine it fulfills you and then the outer world has no more control over you. It is much easier to be in a monastery than in the outside world - humanity will eventually learn how to be at peace within themselves and still live an every day human life....bringing heaven to earth is what is happening as Mother Earth is Ascending to the 5th dimension, which is more heart centered and transcending the duality matrix.

A friend of mine who practiced Zen Buddhism said a similar thing. He sid that it is easy to be at ease when all your surroundings are calm, serene and peaceful and no adversity is present. The challenge is can you do it when there is adversity and nothing is how you want it to be. I think sustained contentment arises from accepting every moment for what it is and not how you wish for it to be. Most, if not all our discontentment stems from wanting a certain reality, as opposed to accepting what is reality at any given moment. The wisdom is knowing how to navigate our desires and adversities.

lol do you know any Tibetan monastics?? Tibetan monasteries are incredibly social, scholastic, artistic, there's a heavy work-load, political, cultural, and mind training/meditation. They are essentially in a boarding university setting for Buddhism. They get up at 3am study, work, practice until 11pm. They are constantly around others in a communal living setting, studying, practicing, doing puja art, etc. and helping the community, it is incredibly social and not any easier than lay-people's lives. Buddhists do not believe in "divinity" in the traditional sense as in an external god btw

It is imp to know that most of these Tibetan monks are born in Tibet but escaped to India as a child to practice Tibetan Buddhism. Escaping from Tibet under Chinese rule is a matter of life. Save Tibet..Free Tibet. Bod Gyal lo !!

I was once walking down a busy high street and I saw a Buddhist monk walking towards me. I could feel his energy directed at me alone even though there were many other people walking too. He got to me and walked around me in a full circle and then continued up the high street. This was over 25 years ago and to this day I can’t find an answer as to what this was about?

Regret is not the same as guilt. hold your regrets close to your heart. Let them be your teacher. Take them with you and then let them go.❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
