Why you remove the coupler ?
@grontek2 жыл бұрын
Why not use threaded pins and nuts with spring washers on the coupling . To save soft aluminum engine block of demage.

Start making videos again.!

Hey @Vaughn Precision I appreciate the support. With whats happened in the last year, I have some things that have taken precedence over JTgatoring. Once I am able to get those under control, I will be back making videos. There is plenty of content to be made, and I will be making it. It's just a matter of when. Thanks again

I ordered the medium kit and the coupler wont seat all the way flush to the motor like it isn't big enough the kit was brand new in the box and everything looked good have you ever had that issue ? It seems like the bearing isn't seated far enough it's like a nice gap too ?? Any suggestion?
@JTgatoring3 жыл бұрын
Yes. The bearing moves inside the coupler housing and needs to be seated in the correct position. This is achieved by tightening your coupler bolts to the engine in a cross-like pattern similar to the way you would tighten lug nuts on a vehicle tire. This will pull the coupler housing to the engine and seat the bearing in the correct position. I believe it covers it in the manual too if you want to double check

you just have to remove the pull start thing and grab this flywheel bolt or if you lucky and its not too tight just tell someone to hold the pull start cord can do it

and really dont know why to put grease in that housing because the only thing that need grease in it was the bearing that is sealed on both side really annoying lol ....have the small kit and im putting grease in it but reallly dont know why lol

Yeah, you could remove the pull start and grab the flywheel. Good point. And for grease in the coupler housing, there is few reasons. One reason is to help disperse heat and the other is to help prevent water from reaching the engine crank case because the water will travel all the way up the longtail shaft. The bearing should stop the majority of the water, but if you don't have a bearing in there, then that is when the grease helps. Will the bearing being sealed... I don't think theres really any need for grease there. I think next time I put my swamp runner on, I'm going to try it without grease in the coupler housing

I would think you need to be sure the motor is on the power stroke before using the rope in the cylinder trick, so you don’t risk warping a valve or something. 🧐

Where is the serial number located?
@JTgatoring4 жыл бұрын
That is located on the face of the coupler flange that bolts up against the engine. Should be on the upper side when the grease fitting are pointed upwards.

@@davidgordy1 they aren't meant to run the same. Please post on another line. This thread was for JT.
