That is amazing. I am 6'2" and I remember the very day I couldnt dunk anymore. I was 36 years old and one day just couldnt dunk it easily. After that day I was able about 20 percent of the time for about another month or so and then just couldnt get up there anymore. I went from a a 39 inch vertical in high school to a 27 inch by the time I was 35. Now after a broken leg at age 66 I am proud to say I have a 12 inch vertical. Aging sucks

Same happened to me. That is a very empty feeling. I shot up to 6’3” my senior Year of high school and never played organized ball, but spent much time my last semester practicing one and two handed dunks, which when I traveled through South America, was rarely seen, so I was treated like a celebrity on playgrounds. About a decade later I was back in the USA with a bunch of high school and college kids who were dunkaholics. I got a steal on a fast break and wanted to show them the old man still had it but the legs just didn’t respond. I realized my hand was not far enough over the rim and laid it in. Then I felt the pain in my tendons and that was the signal from God to stop.

He was my hero growing up in many ways, I never got past 5-6 inches of height but I tried to run every day and do vertical leap exercises. I never did dunk but I bounced the ball off the rim at 15 and 16 years of age. ☹️

First time I saw Spud Webb was live at a preseason game in Wichita Kansas vs Seattle. There were WSU alumni on both teams and was an amazing experience for me as a kid. During the pregame shoot around he dunked the ball and the arena erupted. I had no clue who he was I legitimately thought he was a ball boy. We didn’t have the internet so learning of all the rookies was much different back then. As another short basketball player I was an instant fan of Spud. So much spring in his legs. Love you Spud
@mycommentpwnz11 жыл бұрын
Omg. I'm reading more of the comments, some of you REALLY THINK he DUNKED IT. You can HEAR THE CHAIR MOVE when he jumps.

And i can hear your air pump reinforced big mouth working, as you said that. You have no respect for this legend. No respect. Get outta here.
@mycommentpwnz10 жыл бұрын
TostiTostelli A few things: 1. Spud Webb is by NO MEANS a LEGEND. He was a successful player in the NBA, who just happened to be short. 2. I have plenty of respect for Spud. However, people who actually believe he dunked this ball are idiots. 3. Lastly, my comment wasn't intended to insult anyone. I voiced my disbelief, that's all.

@BlackOnTheTracks10 жыл бұрын
Tosti, you're out of your mind if you think Spud is a legend. His career average was 9.9 and 5.3. He was a serviceable player. But no legend. In the traditional sense.
@nybiggs10 жыл бұрын
Xevious Stevenson He most definitely is a legend. Was he one of the best players to ever play? No. But he was the defacto "height doesn't matter" player for years and paved the way for other shorties like muggsy and nate. There are a lot of players on the 50 greatest of all time list who I'm sure most people never heard of. But kids who never even saw spud webb play know his name. There's a reason why you're watching a video of him 29 years after he left the nba.
