5'4 Andrew McFly dunk session with Tyler Currie and Elijah Bonds.
I asked Andrew super last minute if he could come dunk with us because New Williams dropped out. Andrew and Elijah had a dunk session the day before, so they weren't fresh, but still threw down a few dunks.

@vegaslimoguy2376
@vegaslimoguy2376 3 жыл бұрын
It's not that these kids nowadays are more gifted. Back when i was in high school in the early 90s, we had a guy that was only 5 foot 8 dunking from the free throw line during assembly's. He also could jump and grab a tennis ball off the top of the backboard. Everyone knew this guy as he also jumped a 6 foot 8 inch in the high jump in track. We had tons of guys that could dunk just like these guys, if not better but guess what? No cell phones to record with or social media whatsoever to post it on.

Very little can be done to improve on a person's genetic ability to jump. You get what you get. You might be able to add an inch through really hard work, but even that is more of a hunch than science. At 23, I was only able to dunk a volleyball. I weight-lifted and did plyometrics every single day and hit the gym for open jumping sessions (like these guys are doing) every day (lived right next door to the gym and b-ball was my passion). After 6 months, my squat had improved by almost a hundred pounds (505 total and I was taking steroids), but I was lean and hadn't gained any body weight (purposely because the primary goal was my vertical) but still couldn't dunk a basketball. I ultimately had to realize that genetically, it just wasn't in the cards for me. I still played the game almost daily for years after that and nothing changed w/ my vertical (though I was one hell of a guard because I was very quick footed and could shoot). I'm 5'9 but never could dunk a bball... and never really gained any more vertical past what I had at 21, despite a lot of hard work and focus on it. You get what you get. This dude is a genetic freak.. and I'm super happy for him. What a great feeling it must be to fly like that..
