@@pericodelospalotes5738 yes, I am in the state of New Mexico in the SW part of USA. Spanish is spoken by many here as well as "Spanglish" a mix of the two. I am not super fluent in Spanish but use a fair amount of Spanish words day to day.

I just bought a M390 no choil slicer DLT exclusive XM-18. It’s nice but the obtuse bevel angle makes it dull even though it’s sharp.

I think the 62hrc m390 is rare. But at least the 60hrc performance is better than most other brands at 60-61hrc.

That's the up side, even the 60 hrc Catra PM2 did better than most other M390.

Spyderco's m390 Rockwells out at about 62. Its good stuff.

Spyderco's manix 2 Rockwell test's around 62. Their m390 is good. Better tham most production knives in m390

How would you compare this m390 to s30v ? Edge retention, etc Also is m390 just as good for corrosion resistant as s30v ? Thanks

M390 is better than s30 v at corrosion resistance

Pardon my ignorance, but what does #3 edge #4 edge etc refer to?

That means the amount of times it's been sharpened. Usually the factory sharpening burns the edge on a belt or grinding wheel... So the more you sharpen out the burnt lower hrc steel and get to good steel by sharpening it away the better the performance gets.

I'd love to have a stainless Manix 2 with the skinny mod but I just don't want to take a chance on the m390 even from Spyderco. Maybe I'll just pick up a plain Jane beater S30V.

ken hofer you probably need to get a little deeper. If you can, kill the edge on a stone and resharpen. Try to minimize your burr too. My maxamet pm2 was chippy but after edge 4-5 it was giving me the performance it should.

My m390 DLT para 2 is the goat 🐐 the thing takes a wicked edge performs forever and is very easy to resharpen on the KME

@ Ken Hofer ......Interesting to hear that... my PM2 M390 is a complete monster when I abuse it. The blade just keeps going. Maybe your specific knife has a lower/higher HRC or it’s a one off?
