I really like Native 5, but I like my new Stretch 2 K390 even better for the thinner blade and the better steel. What I want to see in the future from Spyderco is Stretch 2 MINI K390. If happens, this will be the best Spyderco knife ever. And, it's more likely to happen than Native 5 K390. There are Military, PM2, and Para3. And, there are already Stretch 2 XL and Stretch 2. Therefore, it seems it should be a natural progression to have Stretch 2 MINI K390. But, I'm super happy with Stretch 2 K390.

I agree with your assessment that a knife review is not a review unless you’ve used the thing. That’s why I think of my channel as a showcase for my knife collection, rather than a review channel. I’ve dozens of knives that have never cut anything more than a couple of sheets of paper, and many I do use too, but they each have, or will have a video.

Thank you for your review of the SPY27. I have all 3 models that use it. The Manix 2 LW, the Para 3 LW and the Native 5 LW. I agree with you. I also wish that Spyderco uses this more. They created it to perform similarly to S30V and S35 VN and since it's their own proprietary steel, they should make it their standard blade steel.

@ericasedc cruwear and magnamex are sooo expensive i kinda want an m4 Smock and an endela in k390 even tho my stretch 2 is in k390 and I love it 💯 zdp is the steel that shreads like a mf 😆 it needs to be sprayed with wd 40 every now and again. But so does m4. 🤷‍♂️

I’ve been on the fence about trying a Native 5 LW. I think I’m getting close to picking one up for days where I want to carry something a bit smaller. I’m looking at this one, the new Magnacut Salt, or the S110v model. There is also a smooth g10 and Cruwear standard Native 5 available now. Do you have any experience with the S110v from Spyderco? And if so, how would you compare it as far as corrosion resistance and toughness with the others? I don’t really need extreme corrosion resistance. But I am in Texas, so sometimes sweat and humidity can be a factor. I also want to avoid steels that would chip easy. I’m not that hard on them, but I wear a suit and move around and outside of a large building all day so I’ll have times where the pocket clip will get caught on something and I’ll drop a knife. I dropped my S45vn large Sebenza on a hard tile floor a few weeks ago. Thanks for the great videos, keep being the best. And thanks in advance for any opinions or insight. Sorry for the long winded comment.

I picked up the smooth g10 cruwear and it’s nice. Also grabbed a magnacut se ,my first Spyderco serrated edge and it’s crazy sharp. Any of them are great, I prefer a cruwear pm2 daily but they are all good knives 👍🏻 good luck

@@DustinCasler I think as long as you wipe it down if it gets wet it’ll be fine. And if it’s the dlc native that will definitely help any corrosion Issues which I haven’t come across on my satin pm2 cruwear

It feels like all the steels I dislike lol. I do like s30v but not s35 or lc200n. I like more carbines or a tootsies edge. My spydie chef does not take a good edge

Just got this knife. Can you flick open the blade? I find my native 5 to be super stiff and probably be the stiffest outta my Spyderco knifes.

My Native in Rex-45 wont flick unless I loosen the pivot a great deal. I can still one hand open and close it but it is not great for the fidgit factor, it does however work better than most other Spydercos.
