I used to be a construction worker and would wear gloves constantly. I fell in love with the PM2 because I could use it with gloves just as easily as I if I didn't have gloves on

I'd like to see some long narrow blades from Spyderco. I have a lot of Spydercos; but I don't carry them because they are so wide. Just feels like it takes up my whole pocket. Spyderco could take their entire line up and release them under a separate name and narrow the blades and use thumb studs.

I like the knife for EDC in dress pants. Lighter, smaller and a little less imposing than my PM2 when in mixed company. Good add to the series. Id like even more to win it!

Looks like an excellent little EDC, I already think the PM2 is the best folder ever made but is a little large and scary to non-knife folks. Nice discussion guys but a few more up close and comparison shots of the knives wouldve been appreciated, I didnt really get a sense of the knife in this video, it was simply sitting horizontal on the table, most of the time. We want to see the PM3 not just hear your thoughts on it.

So how is it?! I own the tenacious and it's a great knife for the price but I think the pm3 would be a better knife and size all around I think. But I'm wondering how much different it would be compared to the manix or sage....which look a lot like it from what I've seen. I guess I'd have to see them in person. I'm also checking out the Benchmade 940...or the bugout for an EDC but leaning this way after such a great experience with the tenacious. Anyway....I'm curious to know if the pm3 is everything you expected.

I love pm2, bought many of them tho, can not carried in CALIFORNIA where I lived, often in the house or in the pelican box. Finally Yahhh hoooo PARA 3 with 3" blade oh yeah I can legally carried with me now, can't wait!!!! Let hope there's more options for the Handle scales.

you guys are awesome! I am a new knife guy and you are the most helpful resource! I have owned a lot of knives but all cheap stuff. lower end kershaws and what have you. recently I spent a little chunk on a griptillian and now see what I have been missing with better quality knives! I love it! I wasn't too keen on the spyderco action so I purchased a tenacious from walmart and taught myself a couple of different ways to open it (thumb flick and spydie flick) and am quickly becoming a fan. What you both think of the Manix2? I like the axis lock on my grptln and think that the lock on the manix2 is right up my alley. I lean towards a bigger knife these days so I would get the xl probably. I haven't always preferred bigger knives. I carried a crkt pikes peak for along time and still do at work. I can get it razor sharp, and it is nice and compact. so your thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks for the first look fellas. A couple of questions: 1) what is the difference between a pinned rather than torx screwed stop pin? and 2) any reason that you know of that Spyderco isn't offering factory deep-carry pocket clips? Seems like a natural for the Para3 especially. Anywho, as a YUUUUGE Spydie fan and owner of a quiver of Spyderco blades I can't wait to see how the Para3 progresses and hopefully we'll see some BHQ sprint run handle scale options. BTW - a Delica4 is my current most-frequent EDC although my Para2 is my "goin'-to-town" EDC. Both purchased from BHQ!

misternaturalist Pinned knives can't be taken apart. I don't know why they don't offer a factory deep carry clip cause that would be awesome.

Looking at the folding knives within arms reach (knife-nerd alert) I can't find any pinned stop pins. All torx-screwed, even cheaper blades. I'm guessing it's a cost-savings thing? (at around $119 street at release, makes me wonder if the Para3 is made in the U.S.A./Golden, CO like the Para2 and/or if there's a need to otherwise cut production costs?) I could be wrong. Also wonder about the blade steel. CPM S30V like its big brothers? Might it come in S35VN or Damascus in future releases? Definitely a knife to watch for Spyderco fans.

While you would normally think that having a pin would mean that you can't take the knife apart, this is not true on the Para 3. It is actually a floating pin so once you take out the other two torx screws it slides out and the knife can be disassemble (we just did it this morning). As far as a pocket clip I am sure Spyderco has some reason for not having a deep carry option. I LOVE spyderco knives. However, they are just a bit too wide for me to edc. Not thick, but from the spine of the scales to the spine of the blade. When it's in my pocket I have a hard time getting past it when trying to fish something else out of that pocket. Maybe the para 3 is better but I have a manix and a tenacious and I don't carry them on regular work days because it just takes up too much pocket real estate. If I am working outside or out in the woods I carry one of my spideys in my back pocket but at the office day to day I carry something slimmer so I can still use my front pocket as well as have a knife in it.

The PM2 is definitely on the upper end of EDC type knives as far as size goes I'd say. Sometimes a smaller knife is better for leverage too. I think the main thing for a lot of people is the scare factor.

I got a Para 3 now and , man, what a great knife and the size is just perfect.. I really love it. Still... PM2 has served me well over the years when the Para 3 didn't exist. Love them both but the P 3 is really nice and i prefer it in many way's. If the P3 dosen't is enough then i grab a fixed blade.

I see a lot of hate going at Spyderco in the comments, for redoing the PM2, let's be clear guys this is basically the same knife. It's less than half an inch smaller, and I'm sure they were getting all types of requests from customers about restrictions. 3'' is the normal cut off. I would have liked the name to be Para Military 3''

I think the para 2 is the perfect size. This para 3 looks wierd now. It's like a midget para2. I know people like small edc knives but instead of shrinking a perfect knife just buy a different one that fits your needs

What's the opening hole diameter? Dosen't say on Spydercos page anymore?? I think the 14mm on the Paramilitary 2 are to big, was hoping they would make it smaller on this, since the whole knife are smaller. Almost a deal breaker if the hole are the same size...

I would never buy anything from people who promote knives only to sell them, honestly, these vids make it seem that the shop cares about their customers for anything other than their wallets, yet the only thing that I learned is that BladeHQ is the best place to buy this knife! It’s also pretty strange that these guys use knives on the more high-end spectrum, yet if you give them a Gerber folder and a Spyderco without telling them the brand or price, they will see no difference in performance, because usually knife steels don’t matter if the only thing you’re doing is opening letters. Just my 69 cents

Novelty Knife! Its a cool compact Hipster knife Im sure it will sell lots and I even like it! If I had endless coin I would buy one as all of us knife addicts would, because we love spyderco and have knife problems! hahah But really the blade is too small for All tasks and the Paramilitary 2 is perfect in almost every way! It looks fun but if you can only have one of these knives the para military 2 wins every time! Cleaver move though! Its like the Morakniv Eldris which I was fooled into buying with all the hype! Its cool its fun its new its hipster....but!.......You would be better of buying a companion its proven and it does way more then the eldris ever will! Last word spyderco is Awesome!

My pivot broke overnight after i screwd the screws a bit more because they werent on the same surface level as the g10 handles! I am completely dissapointed. Any ideas? The knife is useless , unless i buy a new pivot for 30 dollars
