There are new models of the Keryx coming with some great improvements.

Slightly off topic, but it makes me smile every time a knife reviewer is wearing a band-aid. Totally relatable!

Happy Birthday!! I liked the format, especially being able to hear your opinion on knives that I wouldn't have been able to otherwise. Thanks!

I just got my first Miguron, the centurion 2, it's amazing, Titanium, Marble CF, s90v and mine came pretty much 10/10. The only thing was I had to turn my pivot about a quarter turn and it hasn't moved since. I'm looking at the Keryx but Neeves said a new versions coming out so I'll probably wait for that

I like your regular reviews, but personally also like those fast reviews. It lets you cover more knives with straight to the point comments.

Got the Sage 5 lightweight from BladeHq. I’m am impressed. I don’t understand what spyderco is doing here in Colorado but the QC in Taiwan is just better. The compression lock on this mint sage is flawless. No lock sticking, and the compression lock tab edge is rounded off where it doesn’t hurt your index finger like on Para 3. I am not sure why spyderco is not using this design on the para 3. Doesn’t make sense.

Happy Birthday. I like the review / format. I almost always learn a lot from you. Thank you.

I completely agree with you. The Sage 5 is underrated. I find it more ergonomic than the para 2 and 3. It’s my most carried knife.

I've got a handful of Spydercos, but the Sage 5 LW with the coated M4 blade was my first lightweight version from Spyderco. Man, that thing is so light I forget its in my pockets sometimes. It's crazy how light the knife is and in hand it still feels like I get a good grip on it. My first knife from the Sage series, and I will say the compression lock on mine is by far the best one I've gotten out of the box. It required no tuning what so ever and was drop shut. I'm really liking the geometry of the Sage 5 LW as well, I've only used it for a little bit but it slices very well. Thanks for another interesting video man, and I'm totally with you on the front flipper thing.

Hi, I have this same knife. What a great knife, I like the handles and the blade colour is great. Very comfortable in hand and keeps its edge.

Sorry to see you got a keryx with excess epoxy or glue that blows mine actually came in decent the edge was actually the best one I e ever gotten from them cause they are usually lacking with their edges but I think I'm about to chop off the top flipper I wish it was just rounded over instead of the way it is but I think I'm probably gonna like that AM8 FLix better when it gets here but I mostly got the keryx causr I wasnt ever planning to get the olamic whippersnapper they just want alot for them and they are smaller to so for me this was the better option..... keep the content coming bud! P.S. Happy Birthday!!!

Happy birthday man. With you on front flippers. Love the look of that Sage. Maybe I'm cheap but Spiderco have always irked me as I feel they are over priced.

Big fan of the Sage series and currently have a Sage 2 (? liner lock), but I definitely prefer the Para 3. Funny, because I'll choose the Manix 2 over the PM 2 every time. For a while, the Sage was my "big" pocket knife. Things have certainly changed, now the Sage is on the large side of the small folders in my collection, although the design makes it feel so full in the hand.

Love that Sage (awesome blade in M4 and coated to boot).

One of these days I need to put my micarta scales on my Sage 5 LW. Mine's just the standard S30V version, but I've had the micarta scales for it for a good year now, but haven't gotten around to installing them yet. I bought the scales the same time I bought the knife, but surprisingly, I actually like the frn ones, so just haven't been in any hurry to swap them out.
@mattlindsey92422 жыл бұрын
Where'd you get the scales? I got a sage 5 lw as well and was considering options. But then again I think as much as everyone "dislikes" frn I think it's tough as nails, doesn't care about dirt or liquids and just deals with everything.

I honestly don’t understand why the Sage series is not more popular it is every bit better than the para three in my opinion
@evanb1232 жыл бұрын
100% agree. I have this exact variety and couldn’t agree more. I think Sage 5 > Para 3 and also another underdog the Kapara > PM2. Just one man’s opinion 👍🏻 My one gripe is that Spyderco went 95% of the way on this Sage 5 with coated blade, hardware, clip, and barrel spacers…but not the liners 🤦🏼♂️
@caseytyler83262 жыл бұрын
@@evanb123 yeah I’ve been trying to find an after market sage 5 scale set that works with the lightweight configuration I think flytanium is working on it I’m not a big blade person but I’d 💯 take the kapara over a pm2

I don't think the price has anything to do with that knife leaving qc with the thumbs up, just tells me they have low standards
