Even though I think the Sage 5 is the best EDC offering from Spyderco, I refuse to buy a one until there's a salt variant/magnacut sprint run. It's truly wild to me they dont give this knife the same treatment as Golden models.

I got the Sage 5 cf on sale for $129 and I like it quite a bit. It’s flawless compared to the military 2 I just got which has lock stick and a weak detent.

Yes, some of the deals on the discontinued Sage models are fantastic. At $129, the CF model is a really solid buy, hard to beat at that price.

Mmm i would go with Lil Native, Chief and Shaman.

The Native Chief is a very fun knife. Too big for me to carry, but I know lots of people love it. I've never been a HUGE fan of the Little Native - I have a hard time with compression locks that small - but I'll probably give it another try soon!

Personally, I do not care for the compression lock, I had a sage 5 compression lock and ended up selling it. I've always wanted a sage one. I think it's a beautiful knife and I just prefer that locking mechanism

can i blade swap a maxamet lw blade into my carbon fiber sage 5?

I do not know, and unfortunately I don't have my Sage 5 with me anymore. But I would think quite likely yes...I know in general, as long as it's the same model and the same lock design, I can usually swap blades between Spydercos. I've done it plenty of times with my PM2s and PM3s without issue.

Do not try and sharpen Maximet just send it to spyderco lol I broke a blade barely trying to sharpen it up.

I've sharpened a few Maxamet knives just fine! I've got a TSPROF Kadet with some great diamond stones on it. It's possible I just got lucky!
