In retrospect, I may have exaggerated when I mentioned that I cut wood for 10 minutes then cut tomatoes.

This knife in K390 will be an unbeatable lightweight folder.

Stretch II Straight Spine needed to be this size. I'm glad. I was excited when I heard it in the reveal and couldn't wait.

I got the G-10/Cruwear version last week, it's an amazing knife. A lot of owners are reporting blade contact with the laynard tube, mine does but it's so minimal that the first sharpening will solve the issue (or you can remove the tube). It's definitely expensive but BHQ has a great layaway program, that's the only way I could afford it. The handle ergonomics are probably the best I've felt in a folder, the same is true of my green FRN/ZDP Stretch 2. I'm tempted to grab the S2 in K390 (blue FRN) as well.

Lucky you. That’s a killer combination that you have.

Just ordered yesterday at Blade HQ and came back from work it was sold out. It came just now. Great knife made better by increasing dimensions.

Last three Spyderco knives have had QC issues so tolerances are too wide for me to be excited about getting more.

The only issue that I see with mine is the uneven relieve bevel and stiff action out the box. It’s a great package.

Would have been great in SPY27!

Mine is uneven sharpening too.

It shouldn’t, but perhaps it’s a result of the price point.

I didn't know about this model, thank you. Calling it an XL Stretch seems odd given the completely different blade shape. I can see why they probably want to later release a LW Military, but the Stretch XL is that until that is made!

You are right. It’s almost a military blade (just thinner) in a stretch handle. The lightweight is great for the size, though.

When I got this, all the screws were NOT tight, including the pivot screw, !!! I have obviously tightened them, and adjusted the pivot, and throughly locktited all of them,,, but I don't like the knife, because I don't think it's very strong, because of all this poor quality control from the factory,, I have to have a knife that I trust completely, and sadly this is not the case for this one... Maybe I'll have to wait, and save up for a Military,,,,, ?...

The Military is a proven design given its age and refinements over the years. I much prefer it to this XL. Much more robust feeling. However, I have taken Spydercos to remote and cold places and haven’t had a failure. I say you should give this one an opportunity to perform over time. Having said that, we shouldn’t give manufacturers a pass with lose screws, that’s upsetting.
