I just purchased the S35VN version yesterday (06/14/2023) and I had the same experience. It came out of the box centered. When I got home, I switched the pocket clip to right side tip up. Now the blade is favoring the show side. Maybe I'm going to have to take this apart. It's not difficult to do since I've taken a lot of Real Steel and Sanrenmu and Ruikes apart. I think this model is also made in the Sanrenmu factory.

The Tenacious is my favorite affordable knife so I'm happy to see a review for the LW version. I wish they would make make a run of it with really high grade materials. It does need sharpened often.

I've always hated the Spyderco Tenacious because it's a liner lock and has a weird angled ricasso. The angled ricasso causes the cutting edge of the blade to basically be flush with the scale, which combined with the liner lock creates a finger guillotine situation. This is definitely one knife that should have been made a compression lock instead of a liner lock from the start!!! That's why I'm a huge fan of the Spyderco Caribbean because it has the same angled ricasso but instead was made with a compression lock, it also has a blade and liners made of the virtually rustproof LC200N!!!

Yup, also prefer G10 buddy, and agreed on FRN specially in the Salt series...they totally feel like toys (Native).😁✌️

Good review. Likewise, my Tenacious Lightweight came perfectly centred out of the box, but switching the clip to the tip up position threw it off to the show side and made the action a bit sluggish. I couldn’t fix it no matter what I tried, so I repositioned the clip to tip down and it’s centred and much smoother now. Although I prefer tip up carry, I can live with tip down on the Tenacious LW.

I like the FRN scales. They have more traction than the G10.....with wetter hands..... JMO. I just got one NIB for 35 bucks at a pawn shop..... So I'm happy for the investment.

Just ordered one on Amazon for 50 bucks last night honestly didnt mean to get the lightweight, but imo seems even better, handle looks cooler and im hoping feels good Ive never had a spyderco and Ive heard so much. Like many I thought it was ugly and dumb, but Ive heard so many good things and im starting to see how the ergonomics make nothing but sense at $50 and my non-starry eyed view of spyderco, im going to beat on this thing a bit going to be my EDC for the next few months in wyoming + camping

Kizer Mini Roach or Spyderco Tenacious/Lightweight. I own the Mini and love it, but am also considering the Tenacious/Tenacious Lightweight, which would be my first Spyderco.

That was my gateway Spyderco. A lightweight version with at least the wire clip would be great.

I had the exact problem on my Tenacious with centering- when I switched the pocket clip for tip-up carry, it threw off the centering. I actually used your suggestions for fixing this, but nothing worked. The only way to get it back was to go back to tip-down carry. That's one of the reasons I got rid of it & moved on up to a PM2 & other USA-made & Taiwan-made Spydercos.

It is ok, but I’ll not trade my Naja for one. For the money, one can do better in the Chinese builds, CJRB, etc. $50 is now the realm of D2. I like Sandvik better than 8crmov13.

It's only 0.4 ounces lighter than the original and I honestly hated the original. The ergos didn't suit my large hands. Crappy g10 and a slow action with over aggressive jimping and 8CR13MOV steel. Byrd Raven 2 is SIGNIFICANTLY better in almost every way.
