I used to be so terrified of those giant yellow beasts when I was little. Their half closed eyes and teeth always freaked me out, especially when they collapsed on the ground after you killed them. I especially hated it when they would rear up on two legs at you while roaring in the air. If you notice at the very beginning of the level, the beast that's right after the first dragon you save is roaring at you all the way from that long distance as soon as you land. When you turn to the right you can see him roaring and stomping his feet at you from far away. It really freaks me out, like how can he see you when you're not even close to him yet? Maybe I'm just imagining it, but while listening to this song closely enough, I can almost hear the sound of those big, noisy, gigantic awful beasts roaring at me in the background.

Well. I usually lower the sound effects volume to off, so, all I'd hear is just this track, and it's alternate variation.

They look badass now in the Reignited Trilogy. A lot of the first Spyro game was creepy in my opinion, and I think it was because of the low poly graphics the game had.

For me, this is the best track of the game. When I was younger my Spyro disc became a little scratchy (as discs did), and a few of the tracks wouldnt play, this level included. From then on there was something elusive about this particular track, and upon hearing it years later, I remember why I missed it so much.

I love how the green and blue wizards fight in this level...you can see that there is hatred not just towards you...pretty cool.

The only time I ever got scared of those beasts was one time as a kid I got within the vicinity of the first one and he was coming towards me and I thought he was gonna force me off the edge at the start.

The huge creatures on this level that trample you remind me of that old show Maggy and the Ferocious Beast. The beast looks like them sort of.

I loved that if you could flame the second beast in the level quick enough, the wizard would fly back up onto the ledge and be all, "OH NO YOU DI'UNT!"

Its funny, those rideable enemies were only tough back then because they were scary when you're a lil tike. You get freaked of them, mess a control up and get hit and run away lol. But when you lose the fear, they are really nothing. Even the group of 4 in that pit are 0 w/o fear.

Agree with everyone on those big roaring orange beast. When I as a kid when I first saw them one. It started running towards me, and I paused the game and exited the level. They were just too scary to me. O.o

Alpine Ridge, Wizard Peak, High Caves, Tree Tops, Dry Canyon, Haunted Towers, and Cliff Town are all my favorite portals. My favorite home-worlds are: "Peace Keepers, "Magic Crafters, "Dream Weavers home", and and "Beast Makers home." :D
