Spyro 3 developement cycle: 20% - actual developement 80% - deciding which Lost Fleet theme to use

Finally we get confirmation that enchanted towers is actually bugged in the final release when it comes to wrongly playing Sgt Byrds music. My theory is because byrd is loaded in the same map and the music selector uses his as a override. Which would also explain why the 2 sub areas sound completely different.
@Hwd40511 ай бұрын
Yeah, this has been known for a while in fact - each of the critter mobys have a line in their code which changes the level’s music to match their theme instead. The other review build which has been out for a few years was the same as this one, aside from using Desert Ruins’ theme instead of the intended track.
@Mr.Feather13011 ай бұрын
And the same thing with how lost fleet is originally have its own music in the original builds for Spyro 3 until it was replaced with the Sheila's Alp theme in the finished version of the game

There's something about betas and demos that I miss. Maybe it's just nostalgia but I feel like modern games don't have anything like this. There's only constant updates and early access, no need to make full builds for widescale testing that need to be polished anymore.
@ViRiXDreamcore11 ай бұрын
They exist, you just don’t see them… or you won’t till about 20 years later… but actually… A lot of games have a lot more sloppy development now because computers are so fast. Since many games are released on pc and are made in easily available game engines like Unity and Unreal, you can actually pull the entire game apart. Tekken 7 has a ton of unused and unfinished music still in the game. Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy has the entire test area still there. Check a channel called Shesez for a series called Boundary break.

Wait... you mean they specifically decided to make the rockets cause deafness?
Seeing this, I'm legitimately convinced a bug causes the explosions to be ear-splittingly loud, but they never fixed it because they decided "FU"

Heh. Newly discovered Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon content suddenly released just in time for Chinese New Year/Year of the Dragon next month. If this isn’t a coincidence, I don’t know what is. Chinese New Year/Year of the Dragon officially starts on Saturday 10th February.

@@lunaticlemon2997 No, I was talking about Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon. This game is 24-years-old now. It came out way back in 2000, which is the Year of the Dragon at the time. The Year of the Dragon comes every 12 years.

It’s not uncommon for devs to record themselves doing lines of dialogue and use them as placeholders until they can get the actual voice actor(s) to do the lines so it was most likely just someone who worked at Insomniac.

To my eternal delight, 2 out of 3 mystery tracks from Stewart's website are finally in my grasp, in the "more than good enough" PS1 quality. Also, 2 more unused tracks, as a bonus. ALSO also, some of the tracks now fade out completely, meaning I won't have to edit! Had an annoying bug (fixed) with 1 of the music tracks not playing properly, but then I realized it's my faulty USB ports (long story).

Sorry for the second comment, but is the "Sunset Shore" thing new to the English community? Because in Italian, and only via that Panda's voice (text is correct), she literally says Sunset Shores (Spiagge del Tramonto) instead of Evening Lake (Lago della Sera).
