how did you land a job as an analyst without any SQL knowledge?

@@gkountilas (1) I'd experience with excel coding and (more importantly) LaTeX, so I could demonstrate an ability to learn languages. (2) I was fortunate that the hiring manager believed SQL can be learned, so if someone didn't have that explicit skill but DID have other, hard to find skills (ability to communicate, positivity, thoughtfulness, etc) he would take a chance on them. And (3) I had a referral to the company which was hugely important in giving me credibility.

I've been following your channel and content for a while now. I completed the Google Data Analytics Certification from coursera and even though I really enjoyed it, the SQL part of that course wasn't as good as I expected. It took A LOT of time to get to this stage of the learning and you totally nailed it in just a couple of videos, which makes it perfect because you go straight to the point. Alex, thank you! I recently completed the Google Data Analytics Cert that I thought was full of so much fluff and took too much time to get to the useful tactical information. Very much like a bachelors degree! In addition, it was such a broad overview of 20,000 topics. When I finished the entire cert I still felt like I couldn't do anything on my own. And it was all taught, of course, in Google-owned platforms. So THANK YOU for cutting right to the chase in your videos and using non-Google platforms! Alex this is by far the best explanation of the Group By statement that I’ve experienced yet. Comparing and contrasting it to SELECT DISTINCT was brilliant! Group By is the most difficult out of the basic commands to learn and execute IMO and this video really broke it down effectively. I hated working with sql scripts. I went through countless tutorials, here on youtube and on pluralsight, and no one of them could just explain simply basics. This was the shortest and most effective tutorial I've come across. I hate working with SQL slightly less now :P All thanks to you Alex :) I'm off to intermediate tutorials.

It's good content in general. For the sake of education I'd suggest going the extra mile and always showing as much as you reasonably can. For example, when you're showing how the WHERE clause can still be utilized it would be nice to see a second query (and both sets of results simultaneously) where you also include the AGE column so we can see the results in a different form. It's not necessary but for beginners, visuals can be really useful.
