I love Squad. A few tips for the newbie. 1. Do not be a squad leader on your first couple of games 2. Spawn with your squad or spawn near them. Don't spawn on the other side of the map when your squad is defending. 3. Try to take note of the uniform your team is wearing because names over friendlies isnt always going to happen. 4. Ask questions

Always a professional analysis on these games. Really enjoy the presentation. Unfortunately I'm reduced to an ordinary laptop at present, so my fav, Hell Let Loose, is unplayable. I'm not keen on this modern day environment but this always looks enticing! Explosions and tracers are clear and full bodied. I get so envious watching them! May I ask what is that voice activated software? I'm looking for something like this. Perhaps, when relevant or timely, you could do an update on HlL? I miss the game hugely sometimes. Some years ago I stepped ashore from Silent Hunter 3 - as a campaign I never made it past 1943 - but fell in love with that era. It's not just the gaming it's the reading history too. SH3 took hours, if not days when fully submerged (pardon the pun) in a convoy attack - so I took up reading about it all as I played in real time. Great days! Anyway, I hope your channel grows, you deserve it with all the effort you apply. Thanks👍🏻

I'm using an old After Effects version for the visualiser, but tbh I wouldn't recommend paying for AE just for that. There's actually a decent free plugin for OBS - github.com/phandasm/waveform - that'll produce a similar effect. I do plan on looking at HLL again, probably when the next patch with all the nighttime versions of the maps are released. Appreciate the kind words!

I've taken extended breaks from squad, due to burn out with the community and some little things that bug me, but I don't think I'll ever quit squad truly, the only in squad moments will always keep me coming back.

I do dip in and out as well, it's something that can be draining if you're putting a lot of effort in a command-style role. But every big content update I've got to check it out again :)

@@Anothergingerman Yea can imagine free weekends are especially bad for that. I do tend to play on clan servers for this reason as well, find the general playerbase of them is a bit more focused and knowledgeable

Off topic question but…are you planning on reviewing Escape from Tarkov anytime soon? It’s grabbed me and my friends brain and started shaking. We’ve been addicted for months, though we play on Slovakian servers to avoid the shitty playerbase-

@@LCTRgames honestly? That’s very fair. Look at some discord servers and getting a Sherpa to show you around. Took my buddy and I a whole wipe to start to figure out tactics and gameplay styles.

I actually bought the game brand new a few weeks ago. To be honest, the experience so far has been a bit underwhelming. The graphics look quite dusty by now and the game design is also outdated... Maybe the developers should slowly but surely focus more on Squad 2. At this point, HLL captures this "war movie hardcore cadesim" genre much better in my opinion.

I'd certainly give the graphics win to HLL. The newer Squad maps are better, but like I said in the video, the enviro dressing is way better in HLL for me. The sound design and general experience of playing with the userbase is superb for Squad tho imo.

@@paidninja1413 no the game will use 7.8gb gpu, and around 8gb ram, I would advise a 10gb or 12 gb gpu and 32 gbs ram (more ram the better) and less likely to have ram bottlenecking)

People who experience big drops are either running new cpuz with old 20 series gpu or old gtx series, in better context, a 1080ti will give you a much better experience with a 5600x than a 2060/2070, regarding this also to even get 1440p to a decent game run rate your looking at a 3060 and up

to get 45 65 fps due to bottle necking engine lmao that simply cant handle 50/50 if you hit a server that has 36 / 36 you will be guaranteed to have 100+ fps

That's interesting, didn't think of testing performance on a lower pop server with the new map. Would show whether it was a map optimisation issue or not

I truly do not understand the view that HLL has good 'graphics'. Im really not a fan of blobby LOD's & over-cluttered environments

I'd agree on the blobby LODs, especially on HLL's Stalingrad map. But I think a lot of that is, or should be, about how its been tuned. Many other maps don't show it to the same degree, wonder if that specific map is just asking too much of the engine and they decided to lower the LOD distance to help with performance. On the environments, tbh I'm just a fan of the higher detail levels. I like the spent shell casings and general detritus littering the place - tho I do prefer when that stuff doesn't have player collision.

Undeniably true. Extremely minimal hud and has lots of controls but that's pretty normal for borderline milsims.

I have a (now) lower end PC and it honestly runs fine, even after I upgraded to a 1080p monitor. Leaving 6 comments to complain about an issue only you seem to be having is childish. And, in case you are curious, I have a ryzen 1600, a 1050ti and 16gb of ram, running on a 7200rpm HDD. Usually get 40-45~ fps with it very rarely dipping down to below 30 when I'm being exploded, in which case it doesn't matter since my character is already dead, so I don't mind.

@@NrGSourcEsurfeR I dont know why you suddenly started talking abourt CPU's, but regarding CPU's only using one core, hate to break it to you, but majority of the games you play only use one core because its very hard to program a game to share load between cores. There's not just "a setting" that fixes it lol. Besides, CPU usage is not the problem in Squad, as most people get bottlenecked from their GPU running out of VRAM, especially on larger maps.
