As an ex Canadian soldier ever since they added this it's truly been a joy, and I've done sub arctic operations with Americans in CFB goose bay so playing a map I actually operated in was so cool. Our military is not very big but we got some of the best training and some great kit. I hope more games represent Canada in the future.

Something this game needs is the ability to stabilize yourself when aiming from cover, just like in the Red Orchestra/Rising Storm series of games. I really loved using LMG's in those games because you could quickly deploy them and use them effectively by just planting them on top of cover, or you could plant the bi-pods and get even better recoil control, accuracy and even some added zoom (bit unrealistic the last part). I don't think you could do it with all LMG's, but the M60 in Rising Storm 2 you certainly could and it was awesome. Also meant you could use it better in more awkward stances, like when trying to aim down from a rooftop, places where the bi-pod couldn't be planted. It would also be great for the normal rifleman, it could be a way of slightly countering the loss of stamina. You could risk all your stamina running to a piece of cover, but still be able to return semi-accurate fire because you planned ahead, found cover and a good place to stabilize your shooting stance from. Lastly, I think it's just an awesome mechanic for a game trying to be "realistic/milsim", giving people accuracy and recoil bonuses for using cover is a fun mechanic and it helps foster a more realistic/immersive environment, imo. Hopefully this makes sense to people.

After they're ridiculous choice of vehicles were reduced a bit, they're not all that strong imo. Funny to play against cuz when you keep seeing bullet impacts landing short you know there's a guy with an AS-VAL who hasn't figured out he's firing subsonic yet :P

The us army should be issued the M4A1 for all kits not only the Sl . Pretty sure the us army uses the A1 version not the m4 burst version. Apart from this they should add an holographic or Elcan for US sl leader . I don’t wanna break historic accuracy but I’m sure the devs can give variety like for example letting you choose if you want an m68 aim point for grenadier or acog now that we have ICO people can choose more variety

Well, from a realistic stand point, a lot of M4's in service with all branches are still just the burst variant of the M4, but I 100% agree that all, or at least most Army kits should have the M4A1. To my knowledge, only certain SL's, and a single rifleman kit get the M4A1, which is annoying

It might have changed since I ETS in 2016, but it was mainly M4 burst variant that we got. Elcans were only ever really issued to MG crews. Squad is pretty authentic. Id just like to see them get an EOTech Holographic optic instead of just the M68.

Honestly I prefer the M4A1 (not the M4, 'cause 3 round burst sucks), mainly because I prefer the american optics. But the problem, is that most US Army M4's, are the 3 round burst version (and all Marine M4's are burst as well), and the full auto version is quite rare. All C7's are automatic, so that's what makes them overall better, since again, burst sucks, and full auto is far superior.

C7 = 20” barrel (same as M16) M4 = 14.5” barrel Longer barrel rifles are just better in every way in pure numbers. C7 has the handling of an M16 if it had a giggle switch on it. In other words it’s Gucci AF. A longer barrel length usually increases the velocity of the projectile, decreases muzzle climb, decreases muzzle flash, and makes the weapon cycle more smoothly and controllably. Basically it’s a laser gun compared to short barrel carbines.

10/10 agree about canadian holo, like it's sad that the Marine's are actually my least favorite faction now when they used to be first. But now if USMC pop up i go Vic. US Army are okay if you use the rifleman with the irons/grip cause you have full auto. I think anything full auto with a grip is great now. VDV, are op as well

I think that developers went in wrong direction. New squad unfortunately have nothing to do with reality. There are some changes which I like like new explosion animation but there is also some of them which i hate. New PIP is to small specially when comparing to reality. Scope magnification should be at least 10 times. Putting scope to an eye should be much faster. In real life it takes no more that a second and I do not consider my self as a good shooter. Scope view shouldn't be disturbed when moving with the gun from side to side because normal when U look through the scope face is resting on rifle stock. That's why Your eye is not moving from the scope view. The same with the pistol... It never shouldn't be developed as a simulation of pistol movement from sign of sight . It should be always straight to the opponent. With new squad physics we have situation when player sprays whole magazine in front of the enemy and the enemy is not hit ... this is far from realistic especially when in normal life we can always aim down the barrel at close close distances -this feature is missing. Also it is not realistic that when You're lying down ... normally Your scope is not moving and it is even when You don't have bipod because You are resting your rifle on magazine. Those changes should be removed when developers wanted to call this game as a simulation but from my point of view developers wanted to give more chances to new players - so we should read it like more accessible to noobs which means more players = more money. Unfortunately this destroyed realism in this game and that's why players are angry.. because this is not the game they paid for.

Yea this is why I kinda hate both of these factions. Other factions like the US army, British, IF, they all have drawbacks to use certain guns. If you want a scope, you get burst instead of full auto. You get rockets or more grenades and you don’t get a scope. That’s just not a thing for these factions. Everybody gets a full auto 5.56 laser beam cannon, everybody gets the same op gun. This makes playing against these factions boring and unbearable. Because anyone can just completely light you up in close quarters. The canadians are one thing, but I have no fucking clue who thought adding the Australian was a good idea. My least favorite faction to play against, and they always put them against insurgents too, like wtf?! And this wouldn’t be a huge problem if the teams weren’t even, so you have 50 op cannons against 50 insurgents. Maybe 60 insurgents 40 Australians would make it better in my opinion.

The devs should really improve the ragdolls in this game. Because the current ones are completely awful and make getting kills way less satisfying. Adding weight and inertia to ragdolls would make it feel like a totally new game along with the ICO.
