During the video I mention 1/4 turn of the adjustment rod increases the system pressure by 2-3 PSI. I was mistaken and should have said 1 full turn increases the system pressure by 2-3 PSI and 1/4 turn is roughly 1 PSI.

The water is working good at my son house and going to my house i dont have no presure on my i put about 40 pounds in the tank and it used to work...look for leaks didnt find none

I have a submersible well pump about 50 feet deep. New square d 30/50 pressure switch. I pulled pump because once it hits 15 psi the pump would shut off. I found some frayed wires near pump so I replaced all the wiring. Still have the same issue. Bad pump? Running out of water? Any suggestions? Pump is over 10 years old.

I have recently replaced the factory pressure switch that failed, with a square D pressure switch. And my 33 yr. Old compressor is working better than ever. Kept the old girl running, I was afraid that it wasn't going to be repairable. But with a little patience, and some help from a local compressor company. I was able to get it repaired and back in service. It really wasn't as hard to fix as I thought. The hard part was getting the air line, swapped out. Had to switch it from plastic, to copper. And make it a little longer to fit. It was well worth the extra effort to get it repaired. GF1, 👍👍👍👍👍😁😁😁😁😁😎

I bought one of your square D pumptrol pressure switch. It has a lever on the side to bypass the the switch to turn on or off. My problem is the screws that holds the wires were so freakin' tight. When I say very, very tight, I had to put it on the vise and use a vise grip to loosen it. It's so tight that it bends the prongs that holds the screws!

Square D makes several different psi factory cut in cut out switches. This one for pumps 30-50, with a limited higher adjustment, but for a switch for an air compressor with say a 120-150 range is the only difference the springs that are used? The 30-50 states max pressure is 220 psi and not possible to adjust it that high. So all the switches are the same except for the spring rating used? Thanks for the upload.

Hi, greetings from Sri Lanka. Thanks for this useful video. Recently my pressure pump for the bathroom showers started to drop pressure and as result the water flow gets really slow and after a while only the pressure pump restarts. I checked the pressure gauge and find the pump restarts only when the pressure goes down to zero. Could you pl advice me to correct this, which nuts to adjust in the pressure switch? In Sri Lanka we have the same looking switch but made for 230v. Thanks again.

I bought a new 40/60... I need turn it on manually to get water after about five minutes pump shuts off then you have to turn it back on .. I have a full tank of water .. do I need to adjust the cut in? Need help.. thank you

It would help overall understanding to explain there is a rubber membrane that the opening to water pressure exerts force against to allow switch to read! If clogged, the small diameter to rubber diaphragm, the reading can be faulty! And, may need replacement, or cleaning!

Have a question and cannot find the right answer. I have a biogest system and utilizing the biogas. I need a automatic switching from bio plant at say 30 psi (app) to pump to storage when it senses the pressure..... So it is off and senses say 30psi ...switches on till zero pressure and switches off again. I think its referred to as Normally Open (NO) but I dont see the reference on line. Am I missing something?

My cut off is 40 20. 40 on and 20 off. On an irrigation system. It turns off frequently now. These are set up opposite of what we have. I don't get that.

I have problem with pressure switch That when I increase the pressure to work from 2.5 to 4.5 bar the pressure of the tank stopped at 4 bar I mean the pressure can not increase more so the switch still connected the supply to the motor and didn't turn off. Now I adjust it to work from 2 bar to 4 bar that make the water absent for a while until the switch connect the supply Give me your advice

From what I’ve seen they use the same switch to regulate air compressor on a horse trailer or RV the only difference is they run higher pressures like 120 psi is this in fact the same switch it is a Square D?

May 19th, 2019: Howdy Chris. We purchased a 9013FSG2J21M4BP Square D. When running the outside hose or barn well, the switch will not turn back on. We can take a shower but running the dishwasher at the same time leaves us with no water pressure. It is a 30/50. Should I be tightening the taller adjust spring (CW) to possibly change the range to 35/55 or even 40/60? We also purchased a new Ultratech tank. Kind regards. Don

Chris has a video on here about adjusting the pressure switch. There should be information inside the cap of the pressure switch telling you the factory settings (usually its 30/50). To increase it to 40/60, turn the large spring nut CW. Turn a facet on to lower water pressure to see when the switch kicks on at and make adjustments if nessessary.

How the heck do I reset it after a power outages?! Everything says its a low pressure switch, a little lever on the side of the box. Mine is like the model in this video.... there is no lever on the side of the box.

Yes, your tank's air pressure needs to be adjust to 2 PSI below the cut-in pressure of your switch. Remember that the power should be off and the water pressure drained before adjusting the tank. Here's a video on how to do that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rWOUopRol7KInpo

Hi. Question on a vehicle's on-board air system application, so I can use pneumatic tools/ air up tires... I'm using a brand-new car A/C compressor to push air (instead of refrigerant), as part of an on-board air system for my Jeep Wrangler. If the compressor only needs the black power wire (because it's grounded already to the engine) going to the Square D, where does the compressor's black power wire coming out of the compressor hook up onto the 125psi Square D air pressure cut-off switch? My second question is for the switch that I've rigged to turn on/off the compressor, where does the power wire from the cab-based switch hook up onto the Square D?

These switches are designed for 240V with two sets of contacts. If you are just using one power wire, you'd only use a pair on one side (the two screws on the other side will not be connected to anything).

Looking for info on my Square D 9213 switch. On a vintage compressor, 1940s I think. It is shutting off around 150 psi but wont turn on until drop to 50 psi. Only 1 spring.

My pump has been runnin non stop since Jan 20 (based on my power usage via consumers power website). In tinkerin with it, the #2 screw ended up backed off, no tension. No matter what I do, I cant get the thing to shut off. Plus, I filled the oil (submirsable pump, points located outside at the head) just in case it was low somehow. Good pressure in the house, but killin my pump and wallet. Any thoughts?

The first step is to replace the pressure switch if your current one is not working properly. What pressure does your gauge show?

Thanks for the question! Assuming your pump can safely produce the additional pressure, you will need to tighten the large nut. One full revolution will increases the pressure by 2-3 PSI. Please give our technical service team a call to determine what pressure you can safely adjust it to.

Ive got a 30-60 PSI Switch. The shorter nut is not recommended to be adjusted as per the video, however I live in a 6th level appartment and 30 PSI start switch results in a very low pressure, so I am looking forward to adjusting the switch start to 40 PSI: Will it work to adjust tightening the shorter nut or do I need a new switch? FWIW, for each 2.33 feet height the water is pumped up, you will lose 1 psi. So 48 feet up (assuming 8 ft. per story) means a 20 psi drop. Most pumps have a spec. showing the maximum lift and that number will need to be greater than the height of your floor.

i noticed my switch was shooting out a strong line of water from underneath the switch, not where the pipe joins. it seems to come out of a small hole in the base which i can put my finger on to stop it. what "hole" is that

I have never heard of your issue before but I think the hole you're referring to is a screw holes that holds the diaphragm in place. Your best bet is to look on the inside of the lid for your pressure settings and replace the switch with a similar one.

Hi my square D pressure switch has a factory setting at 20/40. I want to lower the cut-out pressure to 30 because I have a small water pump which cannot reach a cut out pressure of 40, making it run continuously. Is it possible and safe to lower the cut-out pressure to 30?

Yes, you can loosen the small nut only to reduce the cut out pressure. You might have to loosen it almost all the way to get it down to 30 psi (I think the min spec is +10 psi above cut-in). Just be careful that your pump isn't short cycling afterwards.

It depends on what you are using it for. Irrigation, home water supply? If you are happy with how it is operating I would say don't touch it.

It should be normally closed (on), unless you have a low-pressure cutout switch. In that case, you would hold the lever on the side to engage the contacts until the pressure is above 20 PSI.

@@RCworstwater I figured it out. Have to pull up and hold it till the pressure builds up. Mine was on at 38 and off at 58. Was shutting off frequently. Tank has a 40 psi check valve. I reset switch to 42-62. Working fine now. Thanks.
