Writing a check for $2.50 is very on-brand for the time period.

"Oh sure, geometry! Is that fair to use in a court of law?" "I don't know, but I'm going to let it stand pending appeal." I love this show. :)

It only goes to show you Mr. District Attorney that looks can be deceiving. Just because the triangle looks bigger, it doesn't mean it's not the same size!

That judge was a precursor to Judge Judy

Probably based on The People's Court, which was a predecessor.

@@EGRJBut the Mathcourt theme was an upside-down version of Perry Mason.

I have to agree with the Judge Judy comparisons here. I know this predates her show (and I assume it's least partially inspired by The People's Court), but I wonder if the producers were aware of her at the time. She did have a reputation as a "tough" judge in NYC, which is where Square One TV was produced. Meanwhile the the theme music sounds like a knockoff of the Perry Mason theme.

There is another way to prove that the areas of the rectangle and triangle are the same. For the rectangle, you multiply the length times the width. For the triangle you multiply the base times the height divided by 2. Just in case anyone has not noticed.

Arthur was the one on trial, but he was actually the one doing the accusing. I guess Larry felt it was a crime just to accuse him of wrongdoing. Well, look on the bright side, Larry. It's $2.50 extra.

In the '91 season, Larry was the D.A. who was always in the wrong, but Arthur was the D.A. who was always in the wrong in the '92 season.

"I'm going to allow this outburst because it is in response to something profound that I have said." HAHA great quote from a judge. Although I don't get why the person that felt wronged was labeled as the defendant... although I don't like to nitpick too much.
