In this video we're installing heavy duty front shackle hangers and bushings from Offroad Design. The ORD units are more beefy than the stock bushings and come with a greasable bolt.

When I did mine, I used a hole saw jus a bit over the size of the center of the new shackle hanger. Put tape around the centering drill bit to fit the size of the bolt hole in the shackle. once that was done, then I removed the rivits. Great though!

Oh another thing was... I put the nut on the inside. If I had not, i would have never be able to get the bolt out as my header and exhaust was in the way.

@tonyvickers8659 Thats a great idea. I never thought of hole-sawing the big hole using the old bushing as a guide. That would have been a LOT easier.

@@tonyvickers8659 I debated which direction to put the bolt through. I decided not to put the grease zerk on the outside because I thought it might get hit by rocks coming off the tires. So I put mine on the inside of the frame and modified my exhaust to make sure it clears the bolt. Thanks for commenting, its a good thing for other viewers to watch out for when doing this install.

Those shackle brackets are on my list. Pretty much all my suspension and steering components are coming from ORD. Most everyone I’ve seen removing those rivets use the punch attachment on the air hammer to drive them out after cutting the ends off. I haven’t done it yet so I’m not sure how well it’s going to work. I sure it will take a powerful air hammer.

@slingingsteel9744 Yeah sometimes the punch works but sometimes they are practically welded in. Thankfully I only had to drill a few of them.
