Update on the square body GMC. Using a spot weld cutter to remove all the spot welds instead of a drill bit for a much quicker job. Watch the process of removing the old roof, and installing the new metal. #chevy #gmc #squarebody

Did you weld the back of the roof?

@ramwelding I did not weld the whole seam across the back because I want all the sheetmetal to look factory. There's about a 1/8 inch gap all the way along and I put some spot welds inside that gap a few inches apart. Once I add seam sealer, it should make those welds invisible.

@@vikingmech ok I was wondering if you cut holes on the inside and tack welded the inner seem then weld the holes back on so you can’t tell great job I hope one day I’ll have time to tackle a project like yours I’ll thumbs up all your videos good luck too you

@ramwelding1 Thanks for your support! I thought about drilling holes and welding from the inside but that would be a lot of work and I didn't want to mess up the inside roof panel. I remembered your comment so yesterday I went out and finished tack welding all the way across and I'm going to see if seam sealer will cover them. I'll make a video of that and post it up for you.
