That's not peaceful, that's pacifying. Time dilation. (notice with your headphones going left to right). Time shall compress. All existence denied. The video, due to looking at the info on Ultimecia to time the beginning of the battle to the part of the song the goes into the more typical boss battle theme.

今年ピアノの発表会でこちらの曲を弾きます。あまりピアノアレンジがないため原曲をpsで1からゲームを進め聞きました。父がこの曲、ゲーム対して思いれがあるのも納得した作品です。練習頑張ろうと改めて思いました。

自分は逆でした。そして『そのときの気持ちをいつまでも私は欲しいと思ったのだ』と解釈しました。アルティミシアの野望が、時間圧縮して過去～未來の全宇宙全ての出来事の中から一番の思い出を独占したいが為の暴挙だからと解釈してみたからです。

The lower half wakes up at a certain HP, so if it takes a long time then you're doing minimal damage.

We've reached the end. A long journey full of love, loss, and determination. When the words "Fithos" were heard in a semi-distorted way, I went "what is going on?". Then, she reveals her true form; a monstrous faceless being of pure magic. Refusing to give up her goal of compressing time, only to inevitably bring about her ultimate downfall. Poor Squall after this, seeing that he's essentially caused a Predestination Paradox before nearly being lost as the magic holding his surroundings begins to fade away, his memories along with it.

It's interesting how her initial dialogue is similar to Neo Exdeath's from FF5 (except focused on time instead of emptiness). Anyways, this is easily one of the best final boss themes in the _entire_ franchise.

while i prefer ff7 this theme is just awesome, The slow intro as you wacht a lovecraftian monster as if you were frozen in fear just be the sight, and then suddenly the Theme kicks in as if one of your friends touched your shoulder and tell you " we have to fight this thing" , has some triunfant tones, as some "horror" tones too, is spectacular.

The Extreme is a better song than One Winged Angel IMO (but not Dancing Mad). It's my favourite final boss theme and fight in the whole series, it goes so damn hard. Also love Ulti's dual-form design that comes back later for Anima in FFX.

Yeah, VIII really saves itself in the endgame. A majority of the game is super mediocre to bad, but once it finally opens up at the end there's a lot of fun side content to do and the final dungeon and final boss are both excellent!

Is it just me..or does the beginning sound slightly familiar to Vincent's song in ff7 when you find him below the mansion ..... Of course all songs are nobuo uematsu a brilliant composer. And then the song gets crazy good... Definitely one of my favorite boss themes from an FF game wanted to see if anyone else recognized the beginning similar to vincent

@@Zeithri They did get remakes on steam and phones, but square took those down due to them being garbage remakes and the pixel remasters were coming out at the time.

@@Zelink108quite the opposite actually. Ff9 story is complete from a to z. Every thing is solved at the end and the story is clear through all the game. Ff8 on the other hand was a game too ambitious for its time and had many content being cut due to space limitation. Not to mention the story after cd2 is kinda... Weird. And some characters lack story and dev like kyros/ward and selphie/irvine.

Acabo de oir el Remix en FF14 Online en la raid de Gaia (Eden's Promise Savage) pero, prefiero este Final boss ost original de Artemisa/Ultimecia que es mucho mejor que el remix del juego online, pues este me trae mejores vibras de nostalgia cuando luche contra ella en la versión original de PS1, aun asi debo admitir que en FF 14 esto fue una carta de amor de FF8 para los fans se que mencioné que el remix no es bueno para mi, pero para la mayoría si ... Saludos desde Perú!
