Always thought of Kenny as a very underrated all-rounder. He was a great singer and tv personality and I still play his records regularly. Much missed.

Spoke to Kenny a few years back at Wentworth as I was unloading some signs for a golf touranment. He was a perfect gentleman signing some autographs for people who were asking him. One of my colleagues was playing against Errol Brown that day and he reported back that Errol was one of the nicest people he had ever met.

Kenny's dad came to the East End in the 1890's. Merchant sailor. They lived next door to my Mum's family in Poplar. She was best mates with Kenny's sister June. Said they were a lovely family. Kenny did well as did his other sister, the jazz singer, Maxine Daniels.

The MFP album We love Kenny is the best album in the world. I had this as a kid and managed to find a new old stock album in a newsagents in Cornwall to replace it. It's my prized possession and I've also told my family Stand by me by kenny is my funeral song. I Love Kenny.

He nearly says Long Dark Road (which he co-wrote with Tony Hicks of The Hollies) near the end instead of The Long and Winding Road.
