The reason they ported the Wii version of the force unleashed is because they included the motion controls from the Wii game!! Makes the game actually really fun to use the motion controls!

But they gave the added bonus of not forcing them so its basically like you get the best of both the Wii and the ps2 copies also in a lot of ways the wii/ps2/psp version was better

I love the concept and storyline, though - I'd love to see it completely torn down and rebuilt from the ground up with more accessible control options and better graphics. :)

Even though Xbox, PlayStation and PC has more of the heavy-hitting Star Wars games, I still think the Switch line up is decent for fans of the galaxy far, far away. I really want more Star Wars ports, maybe the Classic Battlefronts, Bounty Hunter, Rouge Squadron series (Including Battle for Naboo), Racer: Revenge, Super Star Wars Trilogy, both Starfighter and Jedi Starfighter, Dark Forces, Wii version of Force Unleashed II, Episode III: The Game and don't judge me if I want a port of Star Wars: Episode I from PS1, Demolition, Jedi Power Battles and Masters of Teräs Käsi.

The Wii version is actually a completely different game and they added all the content cut from the ps3/Xbox 360/pc version. Those versions were actually worked on later in development and were surprisingly more of an afterthought. Whilst the Wii/ps2 versions were actually what they worked on first as far as I know. I love both versions to be honest as they have their own experiences to offer.

So, from what I’ve gathered, the Wii edition of The Force Unleashed was ported since it features far more content than the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions of the game. Since some of the content on Wii was specifically geared towards motion controls, it made sense to utilize the Joy-Cons with their updated gyroscope and HD rumble.

And plus, this version is different in a lot of ways in terms of content like levels, and makes this version easier to access since it's a version that's never seen an official PC release. Now, I think they should put the PSP content in it too and have it be kind of an ultimate edition of this version, but that's just me.

This man really described the lightsaber combat from Jedi Knight 2 as loosey goosey.......i guess he never learned the combos or mastered the 1v1 combat. Ppl played lightsaber combat online battles for 10 years afterwards. The game has combos that it doesn't tell you about. You can only discover them by intuition. A great joy in that game was learning the lightsaber skills like a jedi learns the mysteries of the force.

TFU is great I've only played it on Wii an Switch but having such powerful force powers with out have to level them up from a weak point is so so cool i actually feel powerful when I play it I'd give it a B+

I think the reason lego star wars felt that way is because it was strongly encouraged co-op the collectable don't seem as immense when 2 people are getting them. And the side missions are way more fun with a friend

Kotor 1 and 2 are just amazing games. Kotor 1 story wise you can't beat it. But the second one you just feel like a complete badass. 30 extra level ups, you just feel like a boss 😎

Oh man! Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic was mind blowing. I remember being so excited to purchase it for pc and have replayed it several times. Always felt kinda bad about KotOR II. Given to a new studio and rushed out. They made some improvements and they tried but it was impossible for them to live up to the original. I keep meaning to give Force Unleashed a real chance. I remember when it came out and they made such a big deal about how powerful the characters were and destructible environments and such. Then we I finally started playing it you start off as Vader killing Wookiees and I hit a bush with the lightsaber. The bush fell over like a cardboard cut out and then a moment later popped right back up like nothing happened. I couldn't stop laughing. The force is powerful but can't harm any plant. One of the things that I find odd about porting games to the Switch is that it almost seems random what games they give us. Why give us the two Jedi Knight games without giving us the first two Dark Forces games? Please complete the series. I would also love to see the Rogue Squadron series brought over.

Great list Jay! I would agree here with all but one title. The Skywalker saga would be an S ranking from me. It’s exactly what I wanted to see in a Lego game. The base game I could complete in a weekends time and then the unlockables and extras I can play off and on for weeks or months in between games. I've gotta say I'm very surprised that you never played the ps2 version of the force unleashed. The switch version is by far the cleanest and smoothest to date. It's criminal to put the force unleashed so low.

Nah, not a crime, just an opinion. To me, the Switch version is a mess of bad ideas that just isn't fun to play - the jumps are loose, the motion controls aren't great, combat is less responsive, the gameplay is far less tactical and more button mashy, and the look is atrocious. If it's a version you love, then by all means, love it - but I'd play my PC, PS3, or 360 versions 10 times out of 10 over this one.

Yeah, I’m with you on Force Unleashed. Plus, on the PS3/360 version, after you take the dark ending of the game, you had more levels afterwards, like Tatooine and Hoth. I’m sure the original Wii version is decent, but this was a huge missed opportunity by not using the PS3/360 version for the Switch

To be transparent, there's issues with the game. It FEELS rushed in places - but I'm having a boatload of fun with it. Maybe I'm just used to Obsidian games being buggy as hell, but to me it's been a very rewarding gaming experience. Force Unleashed is a matter of taste really, IMO the Wii version is far superior to the PC release. Story is more well build, whereas the PC feels rushed and short (your encounter with your inner father feels so much deep in the Wii version, and the temple trials add immensely to Starkiller development). Also there are more places to visit and somehow physics and force powers feels way more coherent in the Wii version. When you throw or grasp an enemy, for example, you feel their weight, on the PC everything feels like made of cardboard and go flying around the moment you release them. Overall the PC version is good but felt like they tried to achieve something greater and failed, whereas the Wii version tried to do less and actually did it right.

We have complete opposite experiences here - and ain't nothing wrong with that. :) The way you feel about the PC/Console version is how I feel about the Wii version - it just felt thrown together and loose and I never felt the connection with any of the Force powers or characters. Great video, have a physical copy of all of these games as of last week. My Limited Run KOTOR 2 finally arrived after 8 months. Would’ve got the digital, but backlog and time are an issue. I’ve always wanted to play KOTOR series, missed it in college. Always heard it’s a long time Star Wars fan’s favorites, made me wish we could get classic Battlefront on Switch. Be easier then pulling out PS2/laptop to play those on. Final note, Lego Star Wars started on PS2 and Xbox, it makes me feel old saying that. Niece used to play both Battlefronts, Lego Star Wars, and Indiana Jones on PS2 when I’d watch her. She got married last weekend and graduating college end of the month. Where does the time go? Think the PS2 and then full collection on PS3 Lego games were better, also we got the Clone Wars series Lego game during the PS3/360 generation. Fighting over systems in that game was fun. Reminded me if Empire at War and if really old timer Star Wars Rebellion PC.

Even though i have played the wii version only I have to say, the flagship version of the force unleashed is better but by not alot. I'm not of course saying it is a bad game. I love the force unleashed. But when swinging the lightsaber in the flagship version there is just that moment which hits right like every hit is a critical hit.

Force unleashed old gen ver is superiors in almost every aspect. Over all combat feels better after maxing Starkiller, force feels more powerfull - even if physics is worse far more objects react, there is more content and better story pacing.

Jedi academy is the sequel to outcast, not the other way around. There is an old pc game that is the original that outcast is the #2 of. Academy is the more recent release.

The Switch version - specifically this release that I'm talking about - doesn't land for me. I don't hate it, that's why I gave it a C as an average score, but it's not something I've got rose colored nostalgia goggles on for.
