I followed these instructions and my navigation on Squarespace does not map to what I see in this video, I don't see anything in the Domain dashboard options to select forward and can't add anything into. Wonder if they made changes to their interface. I'm trying to figure out how to forward/point my domain name bought/hosted at Squarespace to SmugMug to be used for a site I set up there. Did you do something similar?

Your tip helps me a lot. I didn't know why it wasn't possible to synchronize my account from another platform with Squarespace. An error message always appeared, but this was due to the fact that I had to delete the settings already defined by the website itself so that the information could be added from the other website. Thank you so much!

Oh my gosh - the tip that domain forwarding can't happen while a custom record exists is so helpful! I couldn't figure out why forwards wouldn't save. It will be 24-48hrs until I see if this is effective or not but just to get the forward at least set up is huge. Thank you.

Confused. There is no DNS settings under SETTINGS on the domain anywhere. Not under the domain nor on the menu on the left. This is in 2023...do you know where sqaurespace has hidden these settings now?

Go to Domains and Emails in the Settings sections. After that still cant find Forward under presets. Keep ya posted if I figure it out...

Dude I have been trying to figure this out for 2 days. The square space help article says to use @ in the subdomain to forward the root domain. I couldn’t get it to work. Your video in 25seconds now my domain is redirected. Thank you

My website is hosted with Squarespace but the site itself is a Google site and I am successfully forwarding to my Google site but I can't figure out how to mask the url. I don't want my viewers to see that the website is a Google site in the address bar. I am currently doing this very thing with another website that was registered with Google domains. How can I set up Squarespace to forward and mask?

Soo if I understand correctly in this case Squarespace is only used for domain name hosting? Does one still have to pay the full price for site hosting service? Or just a small $15 fee per year for DNS hosting?

Yes, great question. They would just have to pay for the domain hosting, not the site hosting.

Why do you guys make it so difficult to point your domain to a custom server. I have about a dozen domain with Google so I purchased my last 2 from Squarespace. It's been a nightmare to figure out their DNS system to use my private servers...

it wont let me delete custom records. wtf google domains sold me out to this sht squarspace all i want to do is forward my domain to point to my youtube page. google domains had a one button click enter the page and done .
