Hi David, am I able to connect a domain that is on GoDaddy that was previously connected (not transferred) to Wix? I have a client who's old website is on Wix and the domain is connected from GoDaddy to Wix, and I'm working on their new website on Squarespace and wondering what specific steps I need to take to connect to SS. Will connecting to SS override the connection to Wix or do I also need to delete DNS records or take some other steps to direct traffic to the SS site and shut down the old Wix site?

@@BrittanyAnania Hi Brittany! Because my client's email was connected through Wix, I took the SS A Records and C Name Records and plugged them into the Wix DNS records, and I kept the nameserver pointing to wix from GoDaddy. That way I didn't mess up their email, but the domain was now connecting to SS instead of Wix. A little odd because all their DNS records are in Wix, but this is what SS's customer support recommended, and it worked out fine for my client.

Awesome. Nope! You can connect as many domains as you want. You will set one as PRIMARY but you can connect up to as many as you want. I currently have about 7 for Launch Happy :)

Hi Sandy! This should help - support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/205812098 - you will need to disconnect it from one site and then connect it to the new site!

This video is from a year ago so it would be outdated settings. To find SSL: Go to settings > developer tools> SSL. To find the Domain information, go to settings > domains & e-mail

You will need to purchase a custom domain! There is no way to adjust a built-in domains dns settings!

Yeah, if you connect the domain to your squarespace site, email will still work fine. just be sure of two things: you are connecting, not transfering. And that you are connecting dns records, not nameservers. Sounds confusing but keep those in mind and everything can work quickly. (more info: You can transfer the domain or use nameservers, it just complicates the process!)

@@meetdavidalex Thank you so much for the reply! Shoot, I connected with namesavers. I don't have an email under that domain thought, it's through a different domain in my godaddy account. Is that okay then? I followed the prompts in SS and it had me update the namesavers.

Not a big deal! Just google ensure that whoever provides email for you (godaddy, i believe in this instance), has their MX records on the backend of your squarespace website. :) And you can know it's working if you finished connecting the domain, send an email and it works! so give it a try and let me know :)
