Wow, you made that look easy! Will have to play with the angled spines. I really need to try out the brass splines!

I make a lot of boxes for different projects, but never thought of using brass for splines. A great idea I'll try next. Thanks for the video.

Super cool! I'm a photographer who really got into woodworking due to the need for respectable picture frames... I always liked thicker splines, but now living in Japan, I don't have a respectable table saw AND wanted to go with thinner splines, so I built a circular saw jig to cut my splines with. I work with a lot of hinoki (japanese cypress) and use walnut for my splines as well. Great contrast. I've also used keyaki for something a bit more red. I definitely have been wanting to get fancy and do some brass splines, though!

You don’t even need a jig for splines, although it’s nice to have especially if you have large frames or cabinet. Inspire Woodcraft shows how to line up your 45°s with the blade, no jig required

There is definitely a ton of different ways to do it. I am just trying to show some creative ways to do the splines themselves. Not so much about making the jig. 👍🏼

Dude, the brass and walnut is gorgeous, and timeless design. Forgive me if I am stating the obvious, but although this would be “in style” at any time, the brass and walnut is classic mid century modern, which is a design style that will not finally die. Lol. Sorry if I offend anyone. I like MCM, but it has been overplayed. The awesome thing about this is if you are selling any of your stuff, people into MCM will love it. All you need to do is change the wood and/or the spline, and you will have a design that adapts to whatever the current trend is

I couldn’t agree more. I don’t see how I will EVER not like brass and walnut. 🍻

What I need is manual labor. Lol. And honestly I do need a few parts.
